50 to 30amp
Just a FYI. My Crusader came with a 50amp power cord only because the factory wired it to add another AC unit. Anyway, I'm getting a little tired of hauling out the 50amp cord so I decided to buy a 30amp 25' cord for easier hook up and leave the 50' 50amp beast in the storage compartment. Just an idea for you if you're in the same situation as me.

This is a great idea. I think I will do the same, I hate that huge heavy cord.

Disconnect the 50A, otherwise the pins will be hot from being in parallel with the 30A cord.

Not sure I follow you but I won't be plugging into the 50A service, only the 30A.

Ditto, I don't follow either, I just use the 50a @ the house & the 30a adapter & not run the ACs. At campsites, I plug in & use 50a, am I doing this wrong on my crusader?

No you're not doing anything wrong. The only way I see anything heating up is somehow plugging a 30A cord into a 50A service which can't be done since the plugs are different. I'll be using a 50A female to a 50A male adapter from the camper to a 50A female/30A male dogbone adapter to the 25' 30A cord, then plugging into the 30A pedestal at the campground. All thoughts and input is welcome. My son is an electrician, I should just call him.

I've got to run a 30a power pedestal here at home, but in the meantime, I have a heavy duty extension cord 110 to a 30a-110 adapter to the 50a cord. I only use it to charge the battery & chill the icebox for prep before trips. So far, no issues. Thanks for helping me out

One of these would eliminate one of the those adapters.

I do the same thing at home. As long as I don't run anything that draws a lot of amperage I'm good to go. Gotta have the fridge cold before the trip.

I got tired of hauling out my 50a cord to plug into the 15a extension cord from the house. So, I bought one of these -- love it!

This post solves one of only two things hubby didn't like about our new Crusader. Will definitely be getting the 30 amp cord!

We ordered Voltec 30 amp to 50 amp locking 25 foot cord from Amazon which should be perfect. Hope that is exactly what we need. It will be here Tuesday. 30 amp plug male and locking 50 amp plug female.

Our cord came today and works perfectly with no additional connections needed. It weighs 31/2 pounds and was $81 through Amazon. Happy campers! Know 30 amps won't run air, microwave and water heater at same time, but am used to that as last one was 30. Will always have 50 amp one with us when needed for long stays. Have ordered furniture slides for lounge chairs at back that have to be moved and turned to pull in slides and will report on that when they come tomorrow. Love Amazon Prime!

Just got mine (adapter) today from Amazon too. Already had the 25' cord. That little combo is working just fine. Man I'll tell ya, it's like night and day with regards to ease of hookup instead of pulling out the 50A Anaconda cord. Like you, I'll keep it handy should the need arise. Knowing what I know now, I would have done it like you with one cord spending the extra $5. As it stands my total for adapter and cord is $76. Oh well, you live and learn.
