AC problem

My auto fan hi low system keeps changing speeds on its own. Anyone changed control board and thermostat to fixx this? My current board is 3313199.000 and thermostat is 3313195.012. This is a terrible system made by Dometic. New updated system from Dometic is available but I am not sure it will help. Kit# 3316230.014. Thanks for your help in advance.

Have you tried re-initializing it?

System Initialization A system initialization will need to be performed by the installer after the system is installed. • Make sure the Single Zone LCD thermostat is in the Off condition. See page 4, “Quick Reference To Control Buttons”. • Press the “+” button and, while holding it, also press and hold the On/Off Mode button for three seconds. LCD will show ― ― . Press the On/Off Mode button again to turn system off. This completes the initialization

Is the fan indicated speed changing on the thermostat or just the fan changing with the thermostat set to auto. If the fan is changing to a lower speed and then to a higher speed but the fan indicated setting still says AUTO this would be normal operation for the A/C setting. The fan speed will automatically switch to low when the set temp is within about 4 degrees. It will automatically switch to high again when beyond 4 degrees of setting.

By the way you can set the fan speed to HI or LO instead of AUTO and the fan will not switch from the fan speed setting.

I have read the thermostat manual and yes you are right about speed changes when set to auto however mine has changed speed a number of times within 1 minute. It has to be hard on the motor.

Yes I can change to low or high but would like to use auto so fan shuts down when not needed. Thanks for your post.

Mine will change speeds frequently as it is getting warmer outside. I don't know if its hard on the system as I imagine it is designed to work that way. However, it gets annoying so I just switch to hi fan until the sun goes down the switch back to auto so you can hear the televison

When you set the fan speed to Auto, the fan will automatically switch speeds depending on how far from setpoint the temp is. (I.E. When running the A/C it runs on high until it starts getting close to setpoint and then it stops for a couple seconds and switches the fan to low. As it drifts away from setpoint it stops the fan again and switches it to high). As aggravating as that may seem, that's the way it's designed.
