We have an issue with the heighth of our camper and the facility we built years ago to house our trailers before we switched to fifth wheelers? Would love to install one of these in our bedroom (2015 Crusader 294) but aren't sure how much it would raise overall heighth. Can anyone answer that question?

This photo is of the cables running right behind the interior vent shroud.
I will soon tackle mine this weekend. I have been told that this white/white-red wire is the one I need to tie into. The white side is the + and the white/red is the -. I'll hook a meter to them before I hook the fan up to be sure.

I don't have a heat gun, will a hair dryer help loosen the old dicor around the "old" vent?

The white/red wire worked for me. Maybe I don't remember correctly but I thought I did + on the red. I just wired it up and it worked. I followed the instructions the other posts had in this thread.

A hair dryer may work -- I should have tried that. Removing that stuff is definitely the time consuming part.

It looks like the closed height is 5". I would guess the unit you take out is probably close to that height. See attached image I swiped from their website.

I installed a Maxxair with remote in our bedroom of a 295RST and the bubble over the shower is still the highest point, just.
The Maxxair is not much higher than the original vent.

Love the way Forum members respond so quickly to issues and questions. Thanks to Samaka there may be a Maxxair with remote in my future if AC in our 294 can't cool our bedroom in the summer heat.

If you can get it now then do so, you will not be sorry.

The fan moves quite a bit of air and is great for those days when the A/C is not needed, the reverse able fan will keep the hot air from collecting near the ceiling or bring cool air in.

Does this change your warranty coverage in any way?

Not that I am aware of, dealer did ours without a missed step.

Do all of the Crusader 295's have the wiring hiding in the insulation? I have a 2013 295 took the interior trim down and didn't see any wiring, however I didn't move around the insulation to see if there are wires.

I was a little hesitant to tap into a local light in the fear I might overload stuff?

Anyone with a 2013 Crusader 295 find wires in the insulation???
