Yep! That will work just fine just heat the Dicor up and then scrap with a putty knife.

Yep - @ 5" is right depending on your inlet height. The impressive thing about this vent is, when it is turned off, it is barely visible.
The only issue I can see is you will want to keep the operational height in mind because you can operate these vents while underway - so be aware if you have clearance issues!
The nice thing about these Maxxaire's is that you can also operate them in "Ceiling fan mode" - the vent stays completely closed but you can operate the fan for air circulation.

Turns this does not put too much pressure on the 12v circuit? BC I have a light right next to where Fan is going and we will just leave light off all the time, really don't need it.

Wires
Hi Wicked1.
I have a '13 Crusader 290rlt. Very similar to yours. Mine has the wiring for the fan in the kitchen and bedroom near the vents. From the information I got from Rick at PT, these were pre wired for fans. If you cannot find the fan wiring, the lighting wires will support the added load from a fan, especially if you swap the lncandescent lamps to LED. Also, in the bedroom vent, they are pre wired for a second A/C unit, as well as the roof supports are already in place.
Get yourself a snake camera from Amazon that connects to your iPad or phone! I tape mine to an electricians fish tape and can look where I am going in the "attic" or inside walls. I got the one with 20' wire.
Just a note about the A/C unit. Be sure to clean your air return filters. Mine were clogged when I got mine (new) and the unit really was struggling to move enough air. Cleaned them out. I am looking into a mod that allows for a standard residential filter instead of the crappy foam there now.
Hope you have fun with yours!
Paul

Thanks Paul for taking the time to send this. I put the second AC in already, Atwood Air Command with drop down LCD and wireless Remote, so that is all done, going to attempt Maxxair in Kitchen over the weekend weather permitting. I am in the process of upgrading all Lights to LED now but glad to know I should have wiring if not I will tap into light nearby.
Thanks
Anthony

Question I found a white and purple wire in the ceiling above my kitchen sink in my 2013 Crusader 295
Can I use that for my Maxxair vent fan, I have changed everything to LED and it looks like the wire runs from the switch in the wall ( I Assume) to the lights in the ceiling. I figure I can tap into that for power, but is the white Hot and Purple Ground? I have a white and black cable on the Maxxair vent fan, so white to white and black to purple???

Yikes stripes
I would have to open mine back up to verify. I used that wiring as well, I recall. But, that was last year, and I have slept since then.
I would just make a temporary connection and turn it on. If it runs backwards, reverse the connections! I think the stripe was positive, but I am not being negative....lol!

Finished product Installed today
Wired to the switch and works with all the lights on, so it has constant power.
Bought the Maxxair from Amazon with Wireless Remote for $188.00
