Smile Water tank air lock

Posted this on the sub forum plumbing page and so far lots of reads but no responses. We were dry camping in Colorado in August when the problem first occurred . Water level showed 1/3 but nothing came out though pump was on. We tried to add more water ( we have to pump it at this campground and add water two gallons at a time.) When tank would not accept water, we repeatedly blew into hose and finally got it working again. We were at full service campground for a few days and no issue when connected to hose. When we returned to dry camping, same problem. Had same issue this last weekend after unhooking hose. Gauge showed 2/3 but no water would come out. We got home yesterday and hubs completely filled tank then water worked. He let it run and measured and all water pumped out with no issue. He is a great fixer but this one has him stumped! Would love an answer. Our Crusader gets rave reviews from all our visitors and we love it. Perfect layout and since we have been camping for 50 years, we should know!

Thanks!

Check the winterizing line and make sure the valve on the line used to pull anti freeze out of the jug is closed

2016 Crusader 295RST

Bought the Crusader 295RST in July and logged 38 nights on the road travelling 8,000KM. No problems with the trailer at all except that the dealer did not tell me there are 2 gray water tanks and the release valve for the rear gray water tank is hidden under the trailer. After we learned about that from another Crusader owner who also learned the hard way we had a great time with the trailer. Added a Reese sidewinder hitch to the trailer moving the swivel point back 22 inches as I have a 5ft 8 inch box on my truck. This works great and means I don't have to worry about hitting the truck cab with the trailer on a tight turn or backing into a spot.

Great trailer.

There is a valve in your fresh water tank pump that keeps water from filling the fresh water tank when hooked up to city water. Sometimes, this valves sticks (mine does). In my case, I just leave a faucet on with the pump on and eventually the valve will open and allow flow from the fresh water tank (this has taken anywhere from 30 seconds to a few minutes). Once the valve opens you're ok......until next time. Every once in a while I will shut off the city water and allow the pump to take over (I always keep about 1/3 tank of FW in the tank), this seems to keep the valve from sticking as much.
The other solution is to rebuild the pump or replace it with a better one.

Thanks so much. That makes sense. Appreciate your response.
