Auto Leveling is it worth it?

That shower with a seat was pretty high on my wifes list as well. Honestly, i was leary of the auto level at first, but I'm getting very comfortable with it now after 10 months.(ok....I'm a slow learner...lol). My biggest single concern is one of reliability, but its doing fine. Most folks seem to have very little trouble with it. Also feel a little better since I installed the HW50C ems system. With the expensive processor, i would hate for a voltage spike to take out a circuit board.

The only issue I've had has been one of camp sites not semi level. However, i built a few support blocks for those situations. Where i park it at the deer camp, the site is off level from side to side quite a bit, so i still have to run the low side up on boards, otherwise the levelup system is to far out, and it refuses to level itself. But normally, I park it, disconnect, plug in power, then hit the "camp" button....run out slides, set out the comfy chairs, and pop a brew. Usually, but not always in that order.

I bought 2 packs (10 each) of the yellow leveling blocks on sale a CW. I put a 2X8 under each level leg then adjust with the blocks. At my last site both front legs had 4 blocks as did the RR. The LR had 6. The legs generally only need 6"-7" travel while doing their thing. Less time to level and no longer see an error message that requires the homing procedure.

Much easier to stand 5 minutes in the shower than however long driving up on boards, bending to run jacks down with a drill and checking level to make a final adjustment or 2 that will not do as good a job as the auto-level by pushing a button. You can get both seat and auto-level. No brainer!

We love the 315. I actually went to buy a 295 bought they had the 315 in stock and we fell in love with the extra room and a few more options the 295 didn't come with. They seem similar but comparing side by side there is more. And they offered us a better price on the 315 they had on lot vs ordering a 295 we wanted.

We have also have a 315RST. The floor plan works well for us. The features included the Level Up system which was high on our list of wants. The ability to tow this 5th wheel with our Chevy 2500HD gas, 410 gearing was where we wanted to be.

It's a no- brainer for me- YES, they're worth it. The first year of ownership I didn't have it. I used up alot of space and weight carrying alot of blocks. I would come into camp tired, possibly bad weather or after dark and have to deal with leveling. After all that, I wouldn't want to hassle doing it again for just a small outing. Now, piece of cake- push a button!

I don' t have auto levels, but I wish I did. The MAIN benefit is having a stable camper. I don't like the sway, so having stability is pretty important to me.

I too went back and forth between getting the auto level or not when we were shopping for campers. Ultimately, we decided on getting the auto leveling, which on my 5th wheel (Sandpiper 380BH5) is the Lippert 6 point hydraulic system. I have never regretted it. Of course, at the price point of our model camper, the difference in price as a percentage of the whole was not very great. My thoughts also looked forward toward potentially selling in the future. It seems that more and more, auto leveling systems are becoming "standard." As that trend only increases in the future, it will payoff to have them. All that being said though, I have a buddy with the 4 point Lippert electric ground control and it has caused him nothing but headaches, never seeming to work quite right. Happy Camping!

Our new Sandpiper has 6 point auto level. I won't go back to dragging out blocks and pads, drills, levels, and still having a shaking trailer. My DW likes how solid the 5er is now too.

I got spoiled by my Class A with hydraulic leveling and I bought the Wildcat without 6-pt leveling and regretted it. Have it now with the Montana and won't go back.

Have the lippert 6 point levelers. BEST OPTION EVER!!! Will never have another rig without it. Works perfect. And if you read the instructions you can set the default level point yourself and it returns to it every time.

Auto Leveling system is a no brainer must have

If I get the Crusader 315 which I would keep for years I would think swapping the 4 point electric for the 6 point Hydraulic would be worth it

Have heard very few problems with the GC 3.0 if the battery is charged. Heard more of just leaking fluid to prefer electric,,, on a 40' MH I'd want the 6 point

I don't think you need to. My four point works great and has the power to float the wheels if needed. If you are that concerned about stability just bolt on two scissor jacks between the existing and run them down with a drill. Takes 30 seconds and they're cheap.

X2 ~~ Would need a 5er a lot longer than the 35' of mine to need more than the 4 point.

Our Crusader 351 has the auto-leveling. Will never buy another unit without it. Once I figured out how to properly deploy, I never looked back!! I've pretty much got the hang of it even on relatively unlevel sites, and love that it remembers the level to hook back up.
