Awning

I have a 2012 Primetime Crusader, awning will not work just clicks. When I first bought it the dealership changed out the fabric for a pinhole and the 1st trip afterwards it just clicked. Carried it back in and they replaced the motor. I have used the camper once a year since, so the awning has been used maybe 5 times, surely the motor hasn't gone bad again. Any suggestions would be appreciated, our once a year camping trip is coming up in two weeks. The wife is really bummed

Contact awning manufacturer directly. Dometic had a recall on the motors but even if yours isn't covered I bet they replace it. Search for dometic awning recall and call the number. Have the info from the awning tag on the top right of fabric if it is still there. They will need to know the tag info.

AWNING

Contacted Dometic today, after about an hour on the phone, a new motor is on its way. I will be responsible for labor. A small victory in the awning/motor saga

Hope you have better luck with your unit than I'm having with my Carefree Freedom electric awning. The pivot pin bracket broke at three of it's "spot welds". Instead of a full three-inch weld down both sides, they spot welded 4 little places that were destined to fail sooner or later. The manual doesn't even show or list as a part number the bracket that needs replacing and the rep at Carefree had no clue what my dealer was talking about. Probably will have to remove the bracket [mounted with alum pop rivets] and re-weld the break and reuse it.
Oh, did I mention I'm having to replace the entire motor assembly [$350] because the limit switches [in and out] can't be bought separately? It never has closed all the way and I now [out of warranty] know why.
We will see how Carefree of Colorado treats us on this and I'll get back, good or bad.
