Thumbs up Back From Our First Trip

What a great camping trip!
Got out to the site and set up. No hot water! Worked great the day before. I messed with it for a couple of hours and couldn't get it working. I called a service tech and he thinks the circuit board may be bad. Oh well, it's not going to stop me from camping. I've camped without hot water plenty of times. We'll just take showers in the campground's bath house and heat water on the stove for dishwashing.
First morning was sunny and cool. Spent most the day just relaxing, then in the late afternoon & early evening I went fishing and caught a few.
The next day was even better. Caught a few more fish and my wife and 2 grand daughters came out that evening and we cooked hamburgers on the grill. It rained a little that night and the burn banned was lifted.
The next morning was cloudy and cool. We stayed busy the best we could and enjoyed ourselves. About 5 campers left and only one other camper in the park. I went to the docks and got the fish out of my basket and cleaned them. We started a campfire that evening and was having a nice, but cool evening when the camp host came around and said the burn ban was still in effect and we had to put the campfire out. The news showed that we were not under the burn ban! I went to the showers and when I returned my oldest grand daughter was asleep in my bed! So I got to try out the air mattress last night. Slept just fine, but I did miss the bed.
This morning was still cloudy and 38° so we had breakfast then broke camp and came home.
What a great time! I can't wait to go again!
I'll post some pics later this evening.

Good luck and happy camping!

Glad you had a great camping trip! To bad about the water heater though.

Sorry about the hot water but it sounds like you had a great trip anyway. I'm looking forward to the pics!

Here's a few pics

The first pic is looking out the big side window on the first morning.
The second pic is a few of the redbuds in the campground.
Third, a pic of the campsite.
Fourth, our 2 grand daughters with a couple of the crappie I caught. I didn't catch many and they were on the small side, but there's enough fillets for a couple of meals.

Hot water or not, a day of camping beats a day of not camping hands down!

Glad to hear you had a good trip!

Thanks everyone. Even though the fish and weather didn't cooperate and we had the water heater problem, it really was nice to get away for a few days. The kids didn't seem to mind the weather and are ready to go again.

It's kind of funny because we seriously thought about a bunkhose floorplan, but decided to buy for ourselves. Besides the 2 grand daughters that camped with us we also have 2 more grand daughters that like to camp. So I'm beginning to think that we'll have "company" on all but a few trips, so the bunkhouse might have been the way to go.

We also have a grandson due sometime in the next couple of weeks. Nothing against our 4 beautiful grand daughters and I love them dearly and I wouldn't trade them for anyone or anything, but I'm looking forward to having that grandson. I know that he'll be camping and fishing with us.

P.S. The blue rope lights I mounted under the tt looked and worked really well. We had several people driving by at night that slowed or stopped to look.

Congratulations on the soon-to-be Grandson!

Any pics of the rope lights in action? Mounting?

John

Sorry they made you put out the campfire before you cooked the fish. Bring the fish to the (FROG) rally and I will cook them and let you know how they taste! That is what friends are for! Youroo!!

Here's a link to a thread, with pics, I had on the lights. The pics are with clear rope lights and I have since changed them to blue. No special reason other than I like the blue ones better.

Hope this helps.

Great pics and glad you had a great time dispite the minor problems. The girls looked happy. Gotta love that big Lacrosse picture window!!! And that looks like a beautiful park you were at. Congrats on a great week.

The big window on the side is nice. We get some really nice views and can easily keep an eye on things outside. We were at Lake Eufaula State Park.
Just thought I would post a few inside pics.

You're right, great minds like a think!

My next mod purchase will be a platform step with adjustable legs. That first step is kind of tall, especially for the grand kids. I might get one of those step stabilizers (can't remember the correct name for them). The steps seem a little too unstable without some sort of support.

We're not really concerned with the few minor problems we are having. I'm confident that PT will take care of everything. Despite the problems we really love this trailer. The floorplan is perfect for us.
