battery cut off switch
We have a primetime avenger 21 rb and really love it. The tt did not have a cut off switch to disconnect the battery, so we had general rv install one. Worked fine till the other day. Can not get any battery power in tt. Took it camping anyway since we were using shore power. Any suggestions ? Also we have water runoff gutters on each side of the tt, but when the a/c is on the water runs down the awning. Is this a common problem. New to rving so need a little help.

Tip the trailer backwards so the ac water drips off the back gutters

Don't have a pic of battery disconnect switch, but it is just a round knob and off is vertical and on is horizontal. It is installed directly on the front of the tt. It was installed by dealership and has been working fine. Thanks for your reply.

Switch is a basic disconnect, the lite has one like it.
I would suspect the cables are the problem unless it is the battery.
In any event you could pull the switch and clamp the wire ends together and then tape over the clamp.

The battery works fine for the electric jack, but it is direct wired to the battery, just not getting any power to the tt.

Jack power may come from the engine battery and you have a dead battery

Our Flagstaff TT had fuses under the trailer tong,,,
between the battery & trailer ???
Had one of them blow once !!!

There is no need for that switch. All you have to do is disconnect the negative post on the battery when storing. It sounds like there is a problem with the switch. If so get rid of it and do above.
Check you battery and to make sure it is not defective. Your battery will charge two different ways. It will charge when you are connected to shore power. It will also charge when your 7 pin connection is hooked to your truck and it is running. However to do that you must have a fuse and relay installed in your truck that does that. You will find the location in your truck manual. For some reason Ford sells the the truck with the fuse and relay not installed. Mine was in a bag in the glove box.
I learned the hard way after battery went dead after storing for just three weeks. Luckily I strore it at an RV place and they informed me.

Also on the AC dripping - that is because you do not have you trailer level. Do not have it tilted back as someone has said - it should always be leveled and that is important. It needs to be level (both ways) in order for your refrig and ac to work properly. When level you will not have that problem.

I would keep the cut off switch, you need to use a multimeter to find out if the power is getting through the switch or not. There are reset-able breakers under the trailer you should look at to see if one has tripped. The reason i say to keep the switch is removing the cable from the battery can cause arcing, this can damage components in you trailer. A switch opens and closes the contacts much faster and reduces the amount of arcing.

Personally, I would never be without a cutoff switch. When hooked to shore power your converter may and I say may want to charge the batteries a lot. I will bring my 5er home in a couple of days and it will be hooked to 30 amp shore power here. I'll leave the switch on for one day and then I will shut it off. You may have a defective switch or maybe one of the wires is loose. Disconnect your batteries and then take the switch apart. I have a voltmeter attached to the batteries all the time, so I can tell the state of charge. When my AC is running the water goes to the right rear of the 5er and drips off of the drain spout. My roof from the AC down is canted. Just another bean for the pot.

Your rain gutters may be clogged with debris. May need to clean them. They are really small channels and can get clogged easily.
