Battery Disconnect

I have a Battery Disconnect in my new Lacrosse TT. How does it work? What does pushed in mean and what does push out mean. This is the first time I have had one.

push in means "disconnected" and pull out means "connected"

I can not say what's gets power from battery when disconnected as it seems every model is different. Look at link above for more info.

On my Crusader, I have a light just above the disconnect switch. I can never remember if in or out is on or off. So, I just turn the light on so I know when it is off.

When in the off position, I know my auto-leveling system still runs on the battery.

Very often propane & CO detectors are hard wired to the battery and not disconnected.
The only sure way to kill everything for storage is to put a disconnect on the negative terminal on the battery OR simply remove the anything attached to the negative terminal and tape off to avoid shorts.
