Black/Grey Tank Handle

I have a 2013 Primetime Tracer 3150BHD. I took a trip last year and when I arrived home I noticed that one off my handles for my black/grey holding tanks was missing. It has a tapped female end and screws in to the valve assembly to open/close the gate valve. I think it came unscrewed on the way home and fell off. Anyway.....I didn't think it was a big deal because I thought I could just order the part from my local RV dealer. When I took it in to them (I still had one of them) they acted like they had never seen anything like it before. They told me that they could not order anything like it. I am in need of the extension arm and handle assembly that is threaded with a female end. Any suggestions??

Same problem with two members today!

I have a few extras and my servicing dealer stocks them if your interested.

To prevent this drill a small hole through handle and shaft then insert a cotter pin.

I am looking for the opposite, a handle that slides on and is help in place with a screw through the top of the handle. The threaded style appear to be the more common.

JCoff- same thing, well, almost, with our new 2013 Tracer 3200BHT... went to pull the Grey tank valve, came off in my hand... the aluminum rod was broken at the threaded connection. Don't know how either... our trailers must have been made/finished up on a Friday!
My trailer is sitting at the dealer right now... with a list of 5 other things to fix....

this was/is a pretty common issue that has come up on more than one occasion.....and i agree...they handles STINK....

mine were loose after every trip, but luckily i never lost one on the way....i finally locktighted them all down at the end of last year...problem solved....at least so far....

on another note, i find it stupid that the handles are the same color (for either grey or black tank) and are not labeled or marked in any way...and of course the owners info goes into great detail on them (NOT!!) lol.....

luckily most have only lost the handle part and could still dump with a pair of pliers.....

Send a message via MSN to Tiggerdad
My rig has black for black water and grey for grey. Got home after a trip and found the handle missing. Called Prime Time and they sent a complete set of three and a tube of locktite.

Thanks for all of your fast input, suggestions and sharing the same frustrations! I will try either the drilling method or lock tight once I get a new one. I agree about the tank handle color too. My dealer was nice enough to put labels on the outside panel right above the handles when I bought it. They just used a label maker and stuck them on. Thanks again!!

Another trick is to run a nut up on the threads then screw handle on then tighten nut against handle.
