none taken...

Since I'm from Canada and travel throughout the USA for work, its works better for me to find it in a store or have it shipped to my hotel.

Sorry, but while I have heard they have it at SOME Hardware stores I can't say I have ever looked for it there. If you do order from them they have always included a sample of one of their other products in the shipment.

I just buy the RV-Digest-It from them.

It is the only product I buy from them for use in the holding tanks.
I also use Liquid Calgon Water Softener and Laundry Soap.

This might actually be from your gray tank venting through a dry trap in the shower or sink.

Does it smell bad all the time or just when your tank is full (or partially full)?

A treatment with RV-Digest-it; followed by the geo method should solve caked solids issues.

Thanks Herk. I'm going to give this a shot.

X2 on the RV Digest It! we had some odor comng from our tanks after we pulled the camper out of storage last month. I think the extreme heat dryed out our tanks. I poured 5 gallons of water into each tank and then added the RV Digest it, Odor elinminated!

I haven't really had any oder issues yet. I use the tank rinse for about 5 minutes everytime I disconnect but this sounds like a great preventative measure.

Same here. I flush my black water tank for 5-10 mins before disconnecting.

Lots of great ideas from this site...

Thanks Everyone

I installed 3 Camco Cyclone turbine units on my vents on the roof. as you drive, it sucks the living stink out of the tanks. When your sitting it does the same with the breeze spinning them around.

There is a thread here somewhere that discussed these.
The jury is still out on whether they are worth the money.

The jury hung on whether the partial vacuum caused by the powered vent was worth the cost, since they only "do" something when the toilet is flushed and the flush valve is open. Most of the time there is water there and no odor can come out. On the gray side there is supposed to be water in the traps that prevent odor from entering the camper.

When dumping, air "should" be coming IN as the tank drains, but my experience has been that when dumping into the "Blue Boy" the tank "burps" up the stack and it smells some; but from the vent, not in the camper. The powered vent won't help that either.

Totally your call.
