Camping This Weekend! Yea!!!!
We're loading up the LaCrosse tonight. Turned the fridg on last night so it is ready to go. Tomorrow morning I'll double check everything inside then check everything outside, tire pressure, hitch, etc.... Then I'll get 'er hitched up and off we go!
We're camping at Marval Resort * Gore, OK. It's their Grandparents and Grandkids Weekend and we'll have all 5 grandkids with us! Moms included of course.
No, I'm not crazy! We've also rented a cabin next to our campsite. The 303RKS is a big tt, but not that big.
I'll post some pics when we get back. They do have wifi, so I may post some while camping if I'm not too busy having BIG fun!

Have a great trip and enjoy the family. We are going to Wallace State Park just north of Kansas City. Close to home but it's still camping!

Thanks guys.
About 95% of our trips are close to home. Hard to go very far when you're mostly weekend camping.
Really looking forward to this trip after all the hot weather we've had. The last few days high temps have been in the mid to high 80's with lows in the high 50's. Should stay that way throughout the weekend.
Now if we could only get some rain so they would lift the burn ban. A campfire in the cool evenings would sure be nice.

Enjoy your weekend with a safe trip - I camp mainly on the weekends as well and understand what you are saying in that aspect.

Have fun Gary. We sure had fun there in July with Don and Shirley and their grandaughters. I'll bet it will be more fun with the cooler temps.
Nancy just suggested today that we try to do a FROG rally there next year around Halloween. Thinking it sounds like fun.

I'm kinda glad we don't do weekends any more. We'll probably head out Sunday for Eastern WA, planning to stay out through Thursday night and come home Friday. Icicle River CG for a couple of nights, then Beebe Bridge County Park for a couple more then Pearrygin SP (near Winthrop) Thursday. It's a relativel;y short trip from Winthrop over SR20 back home.
Looking forward to it, it's only our second outing this season.

We're going out to dinner on Saturday night about 45 minutes from our house. There is a county campground right next door to this restaurant, so we're hauling the 8293RKSS over there for one night. They have a reputation for mixing their cocktails very strong. Paying $21 to camp for one night sure beats a DUI or getting into an accident and putting our lives, and the lives of everyone around us, in danger. So glad we now have this option!

Well we all made it safely to Marval Campground. The kids had alot of fun playing on the playground, Trish had fun playing with 'Lil Dude and I cooked up some burgers and hotdogs using the gas grill that's mounted on the rear bumper. (burn ban so no campfires or charcoal grills)
Everyone is having a great time so far.
Here's a few pics;
Hitched up and ready to go.
Grandkids on the playground.
Enjoying their hotdogs.

Bob, Marval said they would be happy to host a FROG rally next October. They also said we would need to reserve early since the campground stays busy all month due to their Trail Of Terror. They also have Trick or Treat every saturday night in October and everyone decorates their sites. Just wanted to pass on this info to you.

Hey Gary...sounds great.....We will just have to make that happen.
Looks like you guys are camped in the same area we were in...right next to the playground...We loved the place.

We all made it back home in one piece.
Everyone had a great time. Kids played arcade games, rode the train, went swimming in the pool, made ceramic crafts and tie dye t-shirts. Of course they spent plenty of time on the playground. We took a few walks around the park and splashed around in the river whenever we could find a spot away from people fishing.
We had plenty of time just sitting under the awning relaxing. I even got to watch some football.
This trip was planned mainly for the kids, but I think we all had a pretty good time. Here's a few pics.
Trish & Isabell making dinner plans.
View of the river across the road from our campsite.
Playground. We were able to sit under the awning and watch the kids play.
