Can 3/4 ton diesel tow Crusader 360bhs

My wife and I are in the market for a new 5th wheel. I recently bought a 2014 GMC 2500 with the Duramax diesel. The 360 Crusader has caught our eye and has dry weight numbers that indicate it could be safely towed by our truck. I'm interested to know if anyone on this forum has the same model and pulls it with a 3/4 ton Thanks for any input

You'll be close on numbers, but your truck will pull it just fine. My Sierra 365saq is almost same model and I pulled it with a 2500 for 2 yrs. Payload capacity will sneak up on you, and some will tell you that it can't be done. Air bags will help ease the bumps. As for the Crusader 360bhs itself, we had looked at it, but I didn't like the idea of not having a sink in the outdoor kitchen. That was the deal breaker for us. The Sierra/Sandpiper 365saqb, Blue Ridge 3715bh, & Sabre 36qbok-7 are all similar models with slightly different features.

Another thing to check is open the couch and make sure it does not hit the counter across from it. This model was on our short list, and both of the units we were looking in had the "upgraded" leather couch. When opening both of the couches to make them into a bed, part of the frame would hit the side of the counter across from the bed. One of them was severe enough you could not open the couch. On the other unit if you gave it a good shove it would go all the way down.

YES... mine is just a wee bit lighter (on paper) then yours and I am under every rating on my truck when fully loaded for camping.. BTW my truck is a 06 and the 14`s have higher ratings

You will probably end up over your trucks payload. It depends what body style you have. I have (2) f250 Powerstrokes one is a 2010 with a a Cargo Capacity of 1913lbs and the other is a 2014 with 2003lbs. Your cargo weight can be found on a white and yellow sticker inside the door. Even the lightest fixed fifth wheel hitches will weigh almost 200lbs with the rails and mounting kit, Add a few tank of fuel an 1850 hitch weight, one or two passengers and your already a few hundred pounds over your trucks Payload. Not to mention your Hitch weight will be higher than 1850 once you load the trailer. Its no question the Duramax will pull it. And you will be under the Trucks total GCWR, but with 2500 and 250 trucks that payload number usually limits us. There are plenty of folks that pull trailers that exceed this number and Im sure I get close with a pin weight of 1350 even, but I wont go much heavier with my family in the truck. Its amazing because if you look at the same truck in a dually the payload is more than double, but of course they have 4 tires to hold the weight as oppossed to two. If you do pull the trigger I would be sure to pay close attention to your tires and air pressures. You wouldnt be the first to be over the payload capacity. Personally I think the Payload should be higher with a 5th wheel trailer because the trailer has its own brakes and its not the same as 1850 lbs of dirt in your bed!

Payloads for the 2014 Chevy 2500 range from 2552lbs to 3431lbs, so he could be well within his limits. The curious thing is, that the regular cab carries a 9900lb GVWR all other cab models have a 10,000lb GVWR. That's merely a sticker game to be under that 10k mark for registration purposes.

lol. dunno what thats about. Yea ford lists a payload of up to 3200lbs for the 250 also. Problem I guess is once you get the crew cab, add the heavy diesel and load it up with optons the truck gets heavy and the payload goes out the window! Im pretty sure the truck with the highest payload is the stripped down gasoline regular cab long bed. Go figure. I think my tailgate with the step and the camera is over 100lbs itself. I was comfortable going up to 1650 pin weight with mine, but when I found what I wanted in a trailer with 1350 I jumped. Happy its a Crusader. They look much nicer than many of the others I shoped! Best way to be sure, check your door sticker. I was floored when I saw my buddys dually was like 4700lbs and mine was only 1900!

Those figures were strictly for diesel models, no gas. While looking, I noticed that the max towing for 5th wheel is slightly lower than my 2011 was.

your adv pin weight is 1850 which is 200 LBS higher then mine is advertised, and I have a 250lb superglide and I always carry firewood and both 50,30 amp cables are thrown in the bed, along with 6x6`s for the ldg and stabs, plus chocks in my bed. my basement is chocked full with crap and I have 2 batteries and I am under my pin rating and your truck has a higher rating, but get it on a CAT scale and then you will have proof, when I hook up, my truck squats to level but I added bags because it helped with the ride qty..
