I know it's been said before but check the mounts on that spare tire behind the nice cover. They are out of sight so I never thought to check. It cost me 250 for a new one.
Some dirt road ditch detour in northern British Columbia has my tire now.
Bummer, but a good heads up. I check my spares pressure. But never thought to check the torque on the tire and mount. Add it to the list of things to do.
Thankfully our rear stabilizer switch is next to the spare, I was raising them one morning as we were getting ready to leave and leaned against the spare on the bumper and it moved and I mean a lot.
I was really surprised at how loose it was, including the plate that had worked its way behind the tire. It's on the check list now.
