I just got a reply from PT factory that gap is normal and is there to "allow the top to move up and down". Not clear what up and down means but it sounds like there are many like this. Sure does look like a mistake!

After having 6 used campers including two truck campers, a pop-up, a small travel trailer ( all deer hunting rigs !! ) and two other fifth was nice to buy our first brand new fifth wheel this time when we bought our Crusader 👍. It is still just the two of us so no plans to buy again for awhile (hopefully)
