Crusader 295RST Tire Question

Posted in this in the tire section and didn't get any responses. Thought it might have a better chance here. We have a Prime Time Crusader 295RST. I cannot get any more adjustment from the hitch and pin box to get the trailer riding level. I think I need about 2 inches at the wheels to get to level. It appears there are 2 options. I understand the Correct Track system will give about 2 inches of lift. The other option is tires. I'm looking at 16" wheels and Firestone LT235/85/16 tires. The diameter of the tires is 31.7". The 16 inch tires that Prime Time uses are ST235/80/16 which are 30.6" diameter. This should give me about the same lift without mucking around with the suspension. Now my question. Is there enough clearance for the Firestones without hitting the underside of the trailer? I'm really leaning this way for the multiple advantages of higher load rated tires and made in the USA. Any opinions?

Hard to answer your question without seeing the RV.

However, keep in mind when you are talking the difference in tire diameters, it is half of the total, that you will see in actual height difference once on the hub........since it is a circle, and measured from the center.

For you want an opinion, adding Correct Track isn't 'mucking around'...it's adding adjustability to be able to easily maintain axle alignment to the king pin and it's also the easiest, cheapest way to raise the camper 2".

I should have mentioned that the trailer currently has 15" tires and wheels that are about 28" in diameter. So the total lift would be about 1.75" more or less.

Does the Correct Track lift add any instability to the trailer?

Other units are shipping from factory with the correct track system so I doubt any instability. I have 16 st from factory and I would worry about bigger tires. Clearence is pretty tight.

I am planning to move to LT tires as these wear but sizing will need to be pretty exact. Personally I think 16" E should be standard (not optional as on mine) on the 295rst since the GVWR goes well over 10,000lb. and has 5200lb axels.
