Rubbing

Rubbing is racin, not towing! I went to larger tires and had to add 1.75" lift blocks to axle.

tire clearance

I just took a golf cart ride down the the RV storage and mine looks nothing like yours. Even with my tire covers on there is lots of room. Maybe my recall was to put in the blocks like someone else mentioned - sounds like what they did based on the letter but the dealer did not say much about it except that mine was the first one and they had a hard time figuring out how to do it. I received a recall letter about it from FR but maybe you could check online or ask FR about it. The slight difference in the tire size should not matter - it is less than one inch difference so what you have would be a problem with either IMO.

This is the recall I received - found this on another forum thread.
FYI - Ran across this while looking up another recall --

FOREST RIVER issued a recall on the CRUSADER model - Recalls & alerts - Healthy Canadians Website
Starting date:March 24, 2014
Type of communication:Recall
Subcategory:Travel Trailer
Notification type:Safety
MfrSystem:Structure
Source of recall:Transport Canada
Identification number:2014091
TC ID number:2014091
.
On certain model fifth-wheel travel trailers, the tires may have inadequate clearance with the trailer slide-out actuator bracket and may be damaged while towing under certain road conditions. This could result in a blow out which could lead to a crash resulting in injury and/or property damage. Correction: To be determined. Owners are advised not to tow their trailers in the interim.

Wow, that sounds exactly like what it is hitting. And you are right, the clearance had to have been an issue with factory tires also. Thank you very much John, I will get a call in to FR and see what they say.

This is why I love message boards!

After a quick glance it appears according to my VIN I am not apart of this recall. ToDouble said the issue was on the driver's side of his 315, mine is on the passenger. I still reached out to PT just to see what they have to say. Looks like their fix was a little grinding and a 1" lift. That may be what I have to do.

You might want to look at this option. 2 inchs of lift and the ability to allign the axles if needed. Correct Trac.

Def. looks like a possibility down the road Jack. Thank you for your response.

I am in talks with PT as we speak. My unit does not fall under the recall but their warranty department is reviewing my pictures.
