The 315RST is quite similar to our 295RST and we definitely do like it. The 315RST has only one door from the bathroom and has a larger shower which would be great. Also the bed is on the slide which is also preferable to our 295RST for us. Not that I am saying that we don't like our floorplan, we do.

The living area is largely the same and we absolutely love the theatre seating and island area. We also opted for free standing table and chairs.

If we had enough truck we would have opted for the 315RST.

We also are looking at a 315RST.
Another newbie what size truck do you have. Just curious, we have a 2003 2500HD Crew Cab Long bed, 8.1L, 3.7ratio. From what I can tell it should be ok. I just don't want to max it out.

You will love the 315rst, it's a great setup. I'm not familiar with your truck and engine. Is it diesel or gas? Any weights on your truck and what the gvwr is?

The 8.1L is a gas engine. The GVWR is 9200, the max pin weight it 3000lbs. The GCVW is 20000lbs., max trailer weight is around 13500.

Newfie,
Your crusader 295RST is the same layout and about same size as my lacrosse 323rts. The theater seating is my favorite place to kick back and relax.
The one thing I dont like about the 315 is no room for a night stand and dont like sidewalls next to my head in bed.
Stay warm
Carl

You should be fine then. If you max out the trailer you may go over the trucks gcvwr, but most people never do that. The 315 has a listed dry pin of #1850 or so but I'm actually at #2125 myself and my dry weight was #10000 but real loaded weight is around 11000-11300 depending on if i put some water on the tank for potty breaks. The theater seats are awesome and it's a direct view of the tv about 10 feet in front of you. My last rig had a smaller tv and was so awkward looking sideways at it from the couch and I felt like i was 20 feet away from it. The crusader setup is so much nicer. There is no nightstand for the bed, but that doesn't bother me. The big brother of the crusader is sanibel and they have a little shelf mounted to the slide out wall which I'm assuming you could do if you really want. Goodluck

It does have some nice upgrades from the 295rst (as mentioned bed slide, bigger shower, nicer lighting above the island and option for w/d) but at the expense of weight and length. Mostly because of where I live (high passes every trip and special license required for over 10,000lbs actual weight) the 295rst was and is a better choice for us -but can see the 315rst working for others. The touring edition is the way to go. Try and get the 16 inch wheels/tires and dual pane windows.
