Crusader 320RLT Slide Issues
Has any crusader owners had problems with bedroom slide motors? My bedroom slide stopped working halfway in. After about 2 hours on the phone with the dealer and he with the manufacturer, we were finally able to manually push the slide in. This was made possible by peeling back the outside gaskets to reveal a screw that holds the motors in place, lifting both motors, disengaging them from the gears and pushing the slide in. This takes 5 people; two to lift the motors on each end and three pushing the slide in. This was a last resort of getting the slide in. The initial instructions were to unplug each motor from the electronic control module to disengage the brakes on the motor. This didn't work, hence manually disengaging the motor. Camper is at the dealer and should be out on Monday, but I just had a conversation with the service manager and he told me he just received a call from someone with an identical camper with the same issue. I hope this isn't a systemic problem with these motors.

Sadly, I had the same problem, but with my couch slide ( 270ret ). Come to find out, the power feed wire came off the control box. My control box was located under the stove drawer.

Well, that's initially where the dealership told me where the control box was on the 320RLT. After an hour searching under every cabinet, I finally found it behind a access door in the storage compartment. They insisted that it was in the climate controlled part of the camper, but I found it otherwise. All of that aside, the dealership has worked very hard to resolve the issue, even rushing the job to get us on the road this upcoming week.

Thats good, that they put a rush on it. My story, about my slide, is to long to tell. All is well now.

Well, good report. Picked it up today from the dealership. Got it in time to head to Talladega on Thursday. The bottom track was our of line. They spoke to Prime Time and was told how to reinforce the track. New Crusaders coming off of the line have the tracks reinforced.
Oh, BTW, the new F250 6.2L pulls it pretty good. Just won't get the fuel mileage of the old 7.2L diesel.

Good to hear. You can handle a lot of problems on these things, but when one of those big slides decides it ain't moving you can find ourself SOL in a hurry! The 6.2L the newer gas engine? Understand it does about 400hp.Don't know about torque though. The most noticeable thing I observed in going from gas to diesel was the mileage,it almost doubled.Of course there was the tangible feel of more power, not necessarily HP,but I guess it goes along with being a diesel.I just couldn't belive mileage would improve that much.

Control Module
Guess I need to have my dealer actually show me where this puppy is, just in case we have a problem..think the only reason we have not had any problems are, we have not been anywhere except the one trip this past January, I'm sure after our next trip something will no doubt show up..

Ratt,
I went from a Diesel to the 6.2L Gas. You're right, the biggest difference from my 2002 7.3L Diesel and this gas is the gas mileage and torque. Gas mileage pulling is what I expected, 8.7 mpg on my first trip. The torque is at 405 lbs, about half of what the newer Ford Diesels are putting out. I only pull once a month, so I didn't see the benefit in staying with a diesel.

Yeah that's understandable. It seems they are doing more with the gassers these days, but it just is hard to beat the laws of physics and truth be known that 8+ is not terrible for pulling that big 320!

So talking about Slide outs, have you looked under your Kitchen or Living Room slide out the two large ones on the 320 I looked undermine today and noticed a grove being cut in it about the middle. its large enough my finger would lay in it. Called dealer today they had not heard anything about this. I will take a pic and post it later. Just asking Help ????

No looks like its under the Kitchen cabinet the part that slides in and out from the sink part that curves around.
