Crusader 325RES 5th Wheel
Hi, we are new to the site and have been looking to buy a 2014 Crusader 325RES 5th Wheel. Looking for any recommendations/suggestions if you have any. Also have a F350 long box and am looking as switching over to a short box. Any problems towing with a short box? Thanks

I have a crusader and a short bed f250. No problems with the short bed. I believe all the crusaders are setup to work with a short bed pickup.

We also have a Crusader and tow with a short bed F250. No issues so far, I have a slider hitch and have yet to use it. Just remember, if you have a regular tool box on the truck you may need to go to a slim top or in the bed box type.
You are probably going to want to get some airbags or something similar if you go to an F250. We have one of the shorter Crusaders and it really made the truck squat pretty bad.

We have a 2014 Crusader which I tow with a F250 short box.
I have a Pullrite sliding hitch which does the sliding by itself as you turn.
We are at 90 degrees when parking at home. No problem.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. Very interesting you don't need a slide for a short box and no problems with towing.
Thanks PrettyBoy

Whereabouts are you located? How much are you asking for the Crusader? You have to realize our dollar sucks big time, as we are located in Whitehorse Yukon Canada.

Good evening, we were wondering if there are any concerns or issues with the fridge size/weight with a Crusader 325 RES. As we are undecided on the size. Any advise/comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey!, the fridge I think is a personal issue, we spend the entered summer in our 325RES with a 8ft cubic feet and had no problem and starting this summer we will be full timers. All depends how much you like in your fridge.

This is the same set up we have and works great. Dealer told us slider was not necessary with short bed due to front corner design of 5th wheel but I wanted the added protection. Love that the Pullrite slides by itself.

I have just purchased a 2014 325RES Crusader. Would like to know what kind of hitch some of you would recommend. I assume sine the GVW of the trailer is 16K I need at least a 18K hitch. Talking to a friend he recommends a slider hitch, even tho I have a 8ft box 2009 F350 Ford. Easier to back up when you slide the hitch back. Would like to know what your thoughts are. Thank you!

Your right grayfox. I got the wrong info and just got the specs for the trailer and your right. It says 14K, so I should be good for 16K hitch. Thanks again.
