Crusader 335 tv recommendations

I have some questions about real world 335 weights. I have a '12 f250 and really like this trailer. I have a 35' TT now that weighs real close to 10k loaded. I have no issues with it just like this 5er a lot.

What do the guys with 335s use as TVs?? Also what are some real total weights and pin weights? In reality, pin weight is what is the most concerned about!!

I'm interested in this as well as I have been looking to upgrade our current TT to a 5'ver and we love this model's floor plan and features! I know my F250 woun't have any problems pulling this trailer, but I like to know real numbers to better gauge if i need to beef up the suspension.

The 335 has similar spec weights to the 320RLT that I have to include pin weight. Using all of the cargo carrying capacity of the 335, you will be in the range of 12000 lbs. At that weight, you will be over your F250's cargo capacity. I weigh in at 11300 and I'm about 60 lbs over on my 12 F250 6.2L. If you have the diesel, your cargo capacity will be less than the gas.

I usually use the GVWR of trailers to figure out if I am going to be over or not. I have about 1650-1700#s of "stuff" in the current TT, so using that I can get close on weight. Then the pin weight will be more than my hitch weight now even if the trailers weighed the same, so, I guess I will be holding off for a while till a dually is in the cards.
I have a class A cdl and don't want to get questioned about being over weight(on the trailer). You know we are professionals in the eyes of the law!!

You're referring to the truck's GVWR that you're 60 lbs over?

If that's the case, you're probably 1000 lb (or more) under its RAWR.

Using the truck's GVWR or it's RAWR is a hotly debated subject. All I'll say that if the GVWR was the rule, there'd be very few 250/2500 trucks pulling 5th wheels as a pin weight of 2000 lbs (or less if it's a diesel) will exceed most truck's GVWR.

Totally agree Dave. That was my point. A F250/2500 and a 5th wheel in the range of 12000 will be maxed out on the TVs GVWR. I, myself, don't have an issue with my setup, but for the OPs sake, this is something he needs to know.

I am we'll aware of my trucks weight as related to gvwr and rear axle rating. I just wanted to get some real world figures of what pin weights people were seeing and use that to see if I can squeak by and be within axle rating.

Hi labs4life,I had my 335 on a Cat scale just to see what the weight was(not liking the upward flex of the pin box mount but that's another thread) 11,160 lbs gross for the trailer,8920 lbs on the axles,2240 lbs on the pin but I have a bike rack mounted to the pin box(Thanks for the good idea EXGMTech)so I would subtract 120 lbs for the bike stuff to put it around 2120 lbs or about 20% of the trailer weight.
I have a 2001 F-350 DRW flatbed 3.73 gears 7.3L with some mods,and a 6-speed, but I had the truck long before we got our new 5er and at 21000 lbs loaded its no problem at all, I hope this helps and Take care.
