Crusader 335BHS

Hello Everyone,
My husband and I are looking at purchasing a Crusader 335BHS. We are playing the numbers game as we speak. I would like to hear everyone's opnion. The one 335BHS is a 2015 and there is a 2014 too. Is there a big difference is anything as far as the 2015 vs. 2014? The fridge is a concern to us. I am seeing things posted that some do not seem to be impressed. It doesn't cool properly and the fans seem to make noise. We were not impressed with the Norcold in the 2015 model. The 2014 seems to have nicer fridge. I would like to hear anything you have to say even if it is negative. This is a big purchase and we are coming off of a 2006 Prowler that has been very good. We are looking at getting rid of it mostly due to the layout. We need something different for our growing family. Thanks everyone for your help.
Becky

Our 2013 has been awesome with a few exceptions. The fridge has never been a problem. I have a remote thermometer on it and it runs a consistent 37-40 degrees even on real hot days. Yes it will warm up if you're in & out of it but quickly cools back down. Now the outside kitchen fridge is another story....you gotta be careful jacking that one too cold...I've already frozen beers with it over setting 6. Every rv has it's issues, but we felt this one had the most bang for the buck. Also liked the rather light pin weight. good luck!

Well we did it we are purchasing the 2014. Keep the replies coming!!! Thanks to all that replied so far. Great to know about the outside fridge. I don't think my husband would enjoy having a beer slushy.

Welcome to the forum and congads on your new trailer, lots of good reading(good and bad) I think you will like the layout I know we do,I have had 4 major things wrong with mine and still working on the last two as we speak(I just happen to have a real bad dealer) but as far as the fridge it cools to the mid 30's with no trouble but I favor Dometic over Norcold anyways.Look at our mods(me and EXGMtech's) we have done a few. Other then the sink and faucet(one of my mods) the outdoor kitchen is priceless for us use it all the time.Take care and happy camping

This is surely the place to inquire about your new home.....my latest gripe (and it's a major one) leads me to advise you to keep your front cap well waxed or covered to avoid the sun damage I've incurred.

Might I ask what you're pulling it with?

Thanks for the reply. Any products out there that help with sun damage on the champagne exterior?

We bought the 2014 Crusader 330MKS and could not be happier! Unless I was actually there to use it.

I bought my 335bhs in July of 2013 and it is a 2014 model. We love the unit and it's layout. If I could change anything it would have been to have the master bed sideways in the bedroom slide but not a big deal.
The only issue I had with the fridge was last summer during a hot spell I turned on the fridge and loaded with food just prior to leaving on a trip. The fridge had a difficult Time cooling down in the heat loaded with food. Now I always turn on empty a couple days prior to a trip and no issues. I did prefer the manual on/off/auto and temp control on the outside of the fridge my previous camper had.

Check under your slide outs for holes or penetrations in the wrap on the underside. I commented in another post that the floor in the master bed slide out was soft in one corner . I believe from water getting in through a screw hole in the wrap.

Overall still happy and love the layout with the outside kitchen.

I've done some mods that I'll be posting soon. ( new outdoor sink and faucet, bath sink and faucet, wall tile in kitchen, etc)

that's weird mine has on/off/auto fridge...but mine's a '13
I turn it on the morning of planned trip just before going to work. By the time I get home to leave (4:00) it's 38 degrees, then we load it.

Sorry, After further review I also have that ( duh). It was just a different setup on my previous fridge. I did like the temp settings mounted on the outside my other fridge had.

It was great to hear from all of you concerning this unit. Thank you so much for your input. We are anxious to get out there and pick up our unit. I know we will be using it a couple of times yet this year! Thanks again!

quick warning in case your PDI tech doesn't tell you: NEVER travel with the rear bunk stowed in the up position! Or this will happen:

We looked seriously at the 335 over the last three weeks but ended up going with a Sandpiper 30IOK. Deal breaker for me was the outdoor kitchen, I am 6'2 and the kitchen door was way to low for me to walk under and we liked the extra room in the living/ kitchen area with the second slide.

Liked the 335s bunk house better and the outdoor kitchen had the propane stove which the piper does not. If I had of been able to fit in the outdoor kitchen the 335 most likely would have been the choice.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the low ceiling height in the master bdrm...that's what I noticed first.
I couldn't do without the auto level system

I found the MB heights in the piper and the crusader the same, although not something I paid a lot of attention too. When I make it to the bedroom I am usually borderline crawl anyway lol so not a huge deal to me.

Auto level would be great, not on my piper but was not a deal breaker for me.
