Crusader Auto Leveling System Worth it?

Going for a Crusader either 2012 without or may buy 2014 or 2015 with it, just wondering what everyone thinks of them.

Love my auto level, hate the location of the control panel inside the basement. Oh, my aching neck and knees. Wish I could find a weather proof shallow box so I could relocate the control panel in the outside wall.

Love ours, hit the auto level and hook up water, sewer, 1 minute late it's done! Not going to look forward to when it breaks. Can't remember how to level a RV without one now!

That would be the way to go, I was lucky they didn't mount mine to the inside wall. What they did was mount it on a metal bracket at the top of the side locker panel face right there looking at you. So really I just have to open the hatch and the controller is right there next best thing to a water proof panel. I have to open that door every time anyway being that's where I keep my electrical cord and hose's in that locker with my chocks. Shouldn't be hard to move it there, a lot easier then what you have described. If the wires are not long enough you can always splice them..... And yes to the OP'S question should have done it years ago.

Grayfox, This is where they located mine. To me it looks like they have that bracket, I don't think they made it.

Mine is located in the basement as well. The basement door only opens halfway as it is located underneath the bedroom slide... a real pain in the neck and knees. There is plenty of extra control panel wiring coiled up near the battery so I want to relocate the panel to the outside installed in a weather proof compartment. I have seen them somewhere on the net, so I'll have to do a search. Lippert doesn't make 'em.

My 2015 is mounted on the bracket also. The auto level is worth it, as long as it is working Mine broke on our second trip (first month of ownership) and is currently in the shop for repair

Just to finish up. I wish I could flip the basement door all the way up against the outside wall as I was saying that bedroom slide won't allow me to do that, but I'll get it figured out. Thanks for the pic, looks like about the same location as mine. I need to install a light near the controller as well for those after dark arrivals.

I think Lowes has some waterproof doors and frames. I know that is where Sid pick up one for his landing gear switch and enclosed it. I remember him showing it to me at the rally and I thought he said Lowes...Let me know if you find one...Thanks

Do you know what happen yet? They told me that they changed the boards, I don't know if they just added an update or what they didn't say and never asked, but he said you got the new board (Controller). Did yours come with a by-pass switch to just let both rams come down in the front landing gear? It replaced my electrical landing gear rocker switch? If I use that it brings down both front legs together, not 1 at a time like the control board will.

On the 2013 Cedar Creek it's under the bedroom slide in a side opening door. Since you normally use it with the slide in, it's in the ideal place. I guess I could use the remote...

We LOVE the LCI level up on our Crusader. It's not a deal breaker feature for me on any future rigs, but it is something that might swing my decision if it was close.

After zero'ing out our system and re-calibrating it I've had no issues with it. That being said I've found it's always best to try and get close to level before engaging it.

I love mine.
There are some tricks to use it correctly and it works very well. Mine was included with the Touring Edition package.

Did your control panel come with the digital screen with read outs or just lights? What tricks did you learn?

The main trick is not to deploy your landing gear all the way to the ground. Have them hit the ground then pick them up two or three holes.

This allows everything to be able to move up and down. If you start with fully retracted landing gears, pull the pin and let them hit the ground, it can not take the front or back lower, just higher. Picking the whole camper off the ground can happen this way.

The other trick is to manually put your camper where you want so the water from air conditioners drains where you want (typically the drivers side) tehn reset the zero level. Now every time you hit auto level the air conditioner should drain to the back.

Which side is that? Curb side or Driver side?
