Dealer got a hold of me yesterday. They put a request into lippert about either welding in approved bumper supports or attaching a lippert product to the back that won't cause any warranty concerns. We will see what happens. And my basement is not big enough for bikes and gear.

Better safe than sorry later.

Justice 12t, wondering what you ended up doing for your bike carrying needs. Did Lippert ever respond to your request?

Along these lines I have a small motorcycle (250 lbs) that I would like to haul on the back of my 27RK. The dealer gave me the name of a certified hitch shop to have the receiver added.

Does anyone see a problem with 400 lbs of receiver, ramp and dirt bike causing any problems?

I see lots of problems, however most people don't head warnings and do it anyway.

Well OK. Not helpful though without a little more information. My dealer did not see a problem, but he didn't elaborate on anything either.

Ask your dealer if adding any type of hitch or rack assembly voids your frame warranty.

Furthermore any camper with a lite or ultra light designation use a Tin can fabricated I beam that will fold with that kind of weight.
If I had to guess its probably a 6" welded together pretend I beam.

I did. They said not if certified welder put receiver in, and they referred me to "their" certified company. Apparently they have used them many times.

Well have it in writing (email) and they will be handling warranty work so I'll go with the known entity. But will put a call in to Prime Time/Lippert for your peace of mind.

Sorry for the delay...just noticed the new posts...

My dealer responded with about the same statement...certified this and that...

I used this ---> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My bumper is attached via 6 inch box channel to my I beam frame. I bolted the above onto the box channel with grade 8 bolts and had my buddy (Certified Master Welder) tack the top of the bracket to the bottom of the I beam. Easily grind-able if I needed to remove and a little extra piece of mind.

I only use it for a 4 bike carrier with a hitch clamp to stop any bouncing. It really works great, 3000 miles and counting...

I looked at a few others but they would not work with my setup without other modifications...

**Word of caution...the brackets will hang fairly low and yes they will scrape from time to time Only twice actually so far...(Not while traveling down the road)...I have been on some pretty good incline in gas stations and what not and they do hit but don't dig in, I just take things slow or at different angles when I feel I need too**
