Take a look at what I am referring to.

Yes that is where the material will be inserted into the channel

Had mine installed before I took delivery. Best investment in the rig. Period. Would never be without toppers on my rig.

I bought my Crusader while in FL. for the winter. Didn't take long and I had the local RV Service at the RV Park install toppers. The long topper makes a flapping noise when the wind blows but I stopped that with a "pool noodle". Best investment made, keeps all the debris and water off the roof of the slides.

Thanks for posting the photos that's exactly how I imagined they would install it by using the drip rail to slide in one end on the awning. Did the rivet or screw in the ones installed on the side?

The arms that hold the rollers are screwed in.

When you get ready, install new rails above the ones already there. That will give the toppers a little pitch for water run off. Mine were installed at PT perfectly flat and they will hold gallons of water & sag which leave a mess on them (stains). Don't go crazy on the pitch too much. When rolled up, and traveling, air can get behind them causing them to billow a little.
