Destination - Inks Lake State Park

We are heading out to Inks Lake State park (near Burnett, TX) tomorrow for a week of camping and relaxing. Needless to say we are pretty excited to get to spend more than 2 nights in a row in out Tracer. I'll post up some pics as the week progresses.

Good luck...I am going out soon. I want to try my inflatable boat with a trolling motor. Wanted a boat that I could put in the bed of the truck and still pull my camper.

We are Kayak freaks, so I already have the kayak loaded up. I put a Yakima rack on the truck so I could haul my kayaks on our camping trips. I do like your trolling motor idea!

Yes Please let us know how you like the park. We are headed to Mother Neff state park then down to Galveston state park. This is the longest trip we have had yet.... Inks is a place we want to try...

Have fun!

Let us know how the lakes are doing there. I know Medina and Lake Travis are waaaaay down due to the drought. It's pretty crazy.

Folks, I am really delinquent in getting back to you about the Inks Lake State Park visit. It was pretty hot everyday so the kayak fishing trips were early in the morning. The lake was just beautiful as always, especially since it is a constant level lake, and offered up a good place to beat the Texas heat. I was surprised that there were as many people there as there was. The park wasn't full, but it was probably 3/4 full... during the week! Unfortunately we had to leave a day early (back to the office to close a deal), but we did have a blast and are going to try and get back in late July.

Nice!! On our 1st year Anniversary my Wife and I did a trip to Lost Maples, Pedernales Falls & Inks Lake and it was very nice. We didn't camp there though, now that we have RV we'd like to try it out there.
