Dish Network and Fulltiming

So I am finally in my Sanibel fulltime. Trying to set up my Dish Network but the receiver isn't able to download the softwear. Since I am in an RV I can't find any tech to come out and diagnose the problem. Any suggestions?
Winegard did what they could and have spent more time on the phone with Dish than I care to mention.
Thanks for any help.

you didn't mention what dish you have and what receiver. are they compatable. do you need any additional switches or separators.? i checked wiring diagrams for my equipment on google . haven't hooked it up yet,but hopefully i won't have any problems.....
check on google for your dish network equipment, and install info.

This may be a stupid question so forgive me.

My Dish box at home has to be plugged into the phone line in order to communicate with dish / update. Does the mobile need that or are you connecting via the satellite signal?

I've got an Anser Satellite. I tried it with a Winegard Carry out also. The receiver is a VIP211K.
I am actually running a straight cable from Sat. to receiver til I get this matter settled.
I've checked google, the installation instructions from Winegard, manual and on the phone, the install manual from Dish and with tech on the phone.
Hope you have better luck than I do right now.

Mine at one time at home had to be hooked up to a phone line but that is no longer true . At one time they told you that there would be a $5 charge if you disconnected the phone that also is no longer the case............. Mine still updates & no charge..... (with no phone)

I found a guy 15 minutes from me that said he can download the info for me. Once that is done crossing fingers that will be done and can use the receiver.
I dont remember being connected to telephone when I set up Dish at home.
