This is DW. I agree. This should be done for both corners to follow not only the esthetics of the bed platform but should have been considered for the safety of anyone who has to work in the confined space of these 90 degree corners. This is a minor imperfection however not only considering the possible injury but the way the platform is built is not consistent with the radius corners of the platform lid and mattress. Make sense?

Measure in from each corner 4", cut straight down and use the pcs to fabricate the new 5.66" surface to fill the 45° corner.

I would use a pc of 3/4" plywood to make a full width, full height support and use the flimsy paneling to cover it. No one is going to see the seam if you cut it with a sharp knife or veneer blade on a table saw.

I purchased enough tubing material in Haines City, FL to make 10 sets and will start fabrication on them either Fri or Sat. We will be back home in Concord, NC tomorrow. Should have all 10 sets completed by 15Mar. Have 3 or 4 sets already spoken for.

Just don't do what I usually do (I have hoof in mouth disease most of the time). Last time the DW tripped over the hose...........I told her to pick up her big feet.................. I lived through it...........

Our son swears we are the only two that can put up with each other

What about a fabric wrap of some sort? Kind of like upholstery. Dense foam wrapped and properly stapled neatly with upholstery material. Just a thought.

From one DW to another...

I like the upholstery idea. Should be easy enough to do.

Personally I would 45degree cut the corners back, reinforce them then wrap the entire box with matching carpet with foam underneath going a little heavy on the corners. It could look factory done.

what about getting those corner edge guards. they are sold in walmart in the baby dept, and have sticky back tape on them. we put them on the bedroom cabinets beside/over the bed on our tt, and we both slept better knowing we were getting smaller bruises
