Just out of curiosity..........whose brand of fireplaces are you talking about in your situation?

At a recent RV show, the most popular brand of fireplace, regardless of the brand of motorhome, trailer or 5th wheel, wa Dimplex. Quite frankly, we've had a few of them in our homes over the years, and they are the most realistic looking of a lot fo the other out there. Not all of the modesl we had came with a remote, and the controls needed were often located on the front "hidden" panel.

We have a RC for our home fireplace. The rocker on/off switch went bad, and we replaced it with a remote sensor and control. Works great.

We have a 2012 Lacrosse 301RLS with a fireplace model no. BLT-999A-2. It has a remote that we've never used. We do use the fireplace for heat on those chilly nights. This is a web site that sells the fireplace remote for 10.00. Remote Control For Electric Fireplace BLT999-A-2

Fireplace Remote

Please can you let me know where you obtained your remote for the Greystone Fireplace. Ours was missing at inspection, and Camping World still have not given me one six months later and I have not been able to find where to buy one. Thanks

Electric Fireplace Remote Control

We purchased our 2014 Crusader 295rst in August of 2013. No fireplace remote, despite the manual showing one comes with the fireplace. I called primetime & they told me they no longer order the remotes from the manufacturer. I took the drawer out of our entertainment center to be able to see the manufacturer info on the back of the fireplace & did a google search to get more company info. I called the manufacturer & the parts dept said that fireplace is supposed to come with a remote & that they'd send me one in the mail, no charge!! I got it within a week!! This was several months ago, but I can research who I called & spoke with.

Here's the manufacturer info for our fireplace:
The R.B. Gustafson Company
57766 C.R. 3 South
Elkhart, IN 46517
Phone: 574-522-0871
Fax: 574-522-4529

I spoke with "Danielle".

Good luck!

My 8282ws Rookwood has a remote. Works great. Doesn't affect the stereo or TV which are all in a 3 foot circle of each other. Only draw back is the tiny coin battery. Wish it used AAA.
And the fireplace/heater is owner programmable for temp, has 30 min thru 6 hr timer settings and 4 brightness levels including no flicker, glow only. great unit for a lower end 5er.

Just got back from dealer. My remote does the tv and DVD unit but only part of the fireplace. TV remote does some of the fireplace functions. Dealer was told by Forest River that they know of the problem and are working on it. From the age of some of the quotes it does not sound like they are doing anything.

We just took delivery of our new Rockwood 8289ws. The fireplace RC DOES turn on the stereo! Does not work for the fireplace at all.
