Talking Finally!

Finally we're going camping! Work, a few health issues and an ongoing personal project has kept us from going. Usually I have 3 or 4 camping trips under my belt by this time, but I haven't even de-winterized the trailers yet! I'll get that done tomorrow.

I have inspected the trailer and a couple of weekends ago my wife and 4 grandaughters spent 2 nights in the trailer. Everything seems to be in good working order. Temps got down into the 30's at night and they stayed nice and warm.

We have a trip planned for Easter weekend. All the grandkids, their parents too, will be joining us. So that means I need to get the LaCrosse and the popup ready!

We're planning on 3 nights, maybe 4 if possible at our local State Park. We'll take our usual hikes and play games like ladder ball. Maybe a couple of outdoor movie nights. The park also has a big Easter Egg Hunt for the kids.

We'll also be doing some fishing for crappie. I haven't even got a hook wet yet, but my wife has been several times and has a few bags of fillets in the freezer. Hopefully we'll catch enough to have a nice fish fry either Saturday or Sunday afternoon. I still have some "Special Batter" that I received from a secret source. Really good stuff. I can taste it already!

Just got back from our first trip of the year and first ever with the LaCrosse, a short 2 nighter at a nearby county campground at a power plant lake. Had a great time, got some bugs out of the trrailer and caught a few channel cats. Went with friends who were having their first trip with their new Viking Popup, first RVing trip for them, so it was interesting.

Gary have fun with the grandbabies.

Finally

Sounds like lots of fun. Our first trip is Easter weekend too. We're heading to Gettysburg, PA. I'll be planning a specific fishing trip next month, but this trip, I've planned a cool history lesson at the battle fields and might even sneak in a winery tour to two. Happy camping.

padave65, there's a campground/resort about 45 minutes from here. Lot's of activities for the kids. It also has a river running through it with some good trout fishing. We've camped there a couple of times, but I haven't tried the trout fishing yet. It's on my "To DO" list.

Willwood Danny, I like to put jug lines out. We mostly catch blues, a few flatheads and some channel every now and then. Dad was my jug line partner, but he's not with us anymore so I don't get to jug line as much as I would like to. I can do it by myself, but it's a little tough to do in a pontoon boat.
The biggest one we caught was a 54 lb. flathead. I would post a pic, but the pic itself weighs 6Ĺ lbs and it takes too long to download! I tried reducing the pic on my computer, but it only took about a 1 lb off.
Those grandkids will keep me busy. Always alot of fun. A couple of years ago the oldest one caught a crappie at the docks. I told her she flopped around more than the fish did!

RonnLynnJr, maybe one of these days we'll get up to Gettysburg. I do like to visit places like that. Have a great time on your trip and good luck with the fishing.

Oh man! PLEASE somebody tell where I went wrong!!!!

My wife works this weekend, so she's off today. I work 4/10's so I'm off as well. I've started sanitizing the tt and getting things ready for next weekend. I'm also getting going to setup the pup and get it all checked out. I've got quite a bit of yardwork to do as well. I'll easily stay busy all day today and tomorrow as well.

Guess where my wife is right now! FISHING!!!

Now that just aint right! Tell me that don't go against the natural order of things!
And get this! I'm the only one around here that even uses the chainsaw and weedeater I bought her on her last two birthdays!

Please......somebody.....tell where I went wrong.

Gary, look at it this way, at least you get to use the RV's today. My missus is at the Casino today, but I get to stay at home and play with the new Kubota and LaCrosse--also I might slip down to the pond after mowing the banks with the Kubota (thata teach her to leave me at home).

Sounds to me like you bought the "Man's model" and not the "Ladies model".

I wondered about that.
Think if I cleaned 'em up and painted 'em a nice pink color she might warm up to 'em and just maybe even use 'em every now and then?
