First Weekend

After a few weeks of packing, waiting, moving stuff around some, minor tweeking (TP holder, towel racks, etc.), we FINALLY got out this beautiful weekend. Weston Bend State Park, near Kansas City. Shower houses weren't open yet, but that didn't really affect us, for a short weekend. Had friends and some family up for dinner and such. Good times.

All went well and we did notice a couple of things (mostly differences from our old trailer) and DW is liking the trim level and basic layout, nice stereo, etc., but have some real buyers remorse about the big intrusive shelves next to the bed, no good place to put a fan to blow on her while napping, total lack of electrical outlets by the stove and sink area (coffee pot, blender, toaster, etc), etc.

I got over my anxiety on storage issues and now will still have to deal with how to bring a bike along (stored inside a large outside storage area in the bunk area on the old one) but the front passthrough storage is half empty at this point. Lawn chairs are in the tub, not ideal, but probably where they are gonna have to go. Also there's not really much on the big bunk in the back so we could put more back there.

One big issue is the dinette table. We checked it and checked it, but it is very wobbly. We re-set the two posts underneath in the floor mounts and the table mounts and don't see anything we can do to improve it. Our old one was mounted the same, but was solid.

Very nice, I have a small outdoor kitchen, but jealous of yours!

Can't really help you with the table as we have the older model with the free standing table. But as for the fan and kitchen outlet access, we hung a smaller clip-on fan on the tv mount for the extra breeze and bought a small 4' extension cord to plug into the outlet over the sink (should be undermounted on the cabinet) to allow a toaster to vent from the stove vent.

Hopefully you find good solutions to your particular situation.

Rig looks good!

We also had problems with the table top. I bought some kitchen countertop from Lowes and bought some floor mounted pedestal legs from Amazon, this solved the problem. You could do the same using the existing top and remove the base. In regards to the outlets I think it may have something too do with the aluminum framing. All of our outlets are mounted in cabinets. Good luck and have fun.

Isn't it still under warranty? Take that wobbly table problem to the dealer!

My dealer suggested putting a block of wood on top of the table, just over each post and giving it a good whomp. I did & it helped, some, but it still is not firm. The dealer said they all wobble, sorry.

Just because the dealer says "they all wobble", still doesn't make it right. Sounds like a flawed design in my opinion. We have the free standing table in our Tracer and have thought about converting it to the 2 post setup.

We just picked up our 318BHS. We didn't get the touring edition, however.
I'm chuckling in my head about storage -- because we went from a 21 foot trailer to this ... to us it's like taking an apartment with us !!! We are marvelling at all the storage.
We're looking at the bedside tables as a place to put our little dog's bed. ;-)

We've used command hooks in the bath for towel hanging (hand towel, bath towel).
I don't like that there is not a place to hang a paper towel holder in the kitchen area that works. Looking to go with a stand for them.

We also picked up another fire extinguisher to have back by the outdoor kitchen.
We have a couple clip on fans we've always used for ventilation.

Hubby installed a roll out rack for the trash can in the bottom shelf of the pantry.
Our first trip out is next weekend.

Thanks for sharing your pictures!

For paper towels we ended up with one that hangs on a cabinet door. Also an over the door towel rack for the bathroom as our command hooks didn't hold up to a wet towel.
