FOREST RIVER issued a recall on the CRUSADER model

FYI - Ran across this while looking up another recall --

FOREST RIVER issued a recall on the CRUSADER model - Recalls & alerts - Healthy Canadians Website
Starting date:March 24, 2014
Type of communication:Recall
Subcategory:Travel Trailer
Notification type:Safety
MfrSystem:Structure
Source of recall:Transport Canada
Identification number:2014091
TC ID number:2014091
.
On certain model fifth-wheel travel trailers, the tires may have inadequate clearance with the trailer slide-out actuator bracket and may be damaged while towing under certain road conditions. This could result in a blow out which could lead to a crash resulting in injury and/or property damage. Correction: To be determined. Owners are advised not to tow their trailers in the interim.

For the Transport Canada Data base
.
If you run the search using Prime Time it does not show the recall that started the thread - it comes up with the awning one.
.
If you search ( Road Safety Recalls Database) using Forest River it is the first one on the list
.
The WildCat one from Jan 30 is scary as well "the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) indicated on the compliance label may exceed the combined load carrying capacity of the trailer axles as well as the trailer hitch pin box"

They also have a recall on 2012 2013 Rockwood/Flagstaff for axle clearance issues. Called my dealer and he is running my SN for my fifth wheel.

Just went out to look at our crusader. Couch/dinnette slide looks like it's the only one. There's a bracket 1"-1 1/4" away from the top if the tire and it's on an angle so I imagine if your traveling along and hit a pothole and things bounce it will spear the top of your tire.

This is why it is important to report safety issues to your appropriate gov. organization, they do get things moving and the manufacturer has to fix things properly. Take a look at GM right now.

FOREST RIVER issued a recall on the CRUSADER model

It wouldn't be so bad if it was a rounded corner but it's thick metal with a 90 degree sharp edge on it. You hit a big enough bump at 60 mph that thing has to take a chunk out of the tire. Maybe time to get the grinder out and round that edge

I did check the awning recall but I'm not built in that time frame so good there!

Yeah the more I look at the pic it looks like that corner tab should of been cut off. The point of it is about one inch from tire tread. Dangerous!

B&B what model do you own and are you on the list? My Rockwood is 2012. I guess people have been adding lift kits for certain units I know I have about 3 fingers clearance between the wheel and wheel well. If you are in a recall. I thought that you had to be notified of the recall?.......

We have to rely upon the Transport Canadian database? --- where is the notification for the US owners? How do they notify and when ?
