Fridge Question

The cable on the white "thingy" on the fins in our frig has come out several times. We have just stuck it back in. This week when we were camping we noticed that the frig was not cooling as well as it had been. The fan was also coming on and staying on for longer periods of time. It was very hot and the sun was blazing directly on the outside of the frig. We switched the frig to propane and it seemed to be cooler. Is this to be expected given the warm temps outside? Sorry for all the technical language!!! LOL

That is the temp control for the fridge. The higher up you slide it on the fin, the colder the fridge.

You are also correct that direct sunlight on your fridge side will cause the fridge to be less efficient. Shade it if possible or increase air flow with a powered roof vent.

Propane is more efficient than electric in rv fridges. Don't know exactly why that is. Has something to do with heat exchange I think.
