Front Jack suddenly quit

Our power front jack has mysteriously quit working. We have a 2012 Lacrosse 318bhs Touring addition. I unhooked earlier today and all worked great. Went back later to lower it, no worky. The task light works, so I know it is getting power. When the light is on, and you hit the raise/lower switch, the light goes off. Almost like there is a short somewhere.

I just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem before I tear into it.

Does Liepert have a longer than one year warranty on these items?

Suspect a bad ground. Remove one bolt at a time from the jack flange and remove the rust and put a new lock washer under the bolt head. Repeat for the remaining 2 bolts.

You can also just loosen them and tighten them several times to break the rust loose.

Thanks old coot, but no rust, everything is nice and clean.

I took the cover off and every thing looks good, no loose wires or corrosion.

We are leaving for a trip in two days and this happens.

Any other thoughts?

Update: Corroded inline fuse was the culprit. All working.

Glad you got it figured out. As an aside, when you get time you may want to do a forum search here on the Lippert(LCI) power tongue jacks. Many a member has had problems with them (moi included). They are bad about water infiltration too, if you don't keep the head covered,

Mine was always extremely loud, from the get go, but I got a few years from it till I got that fateful gear crunching sound one day.

Replaced with a Barker brand, and have been good to go. (so much quieter)

I had that issue on my jack installed by dealer. From top down I had the bolt head, a lick washer then a flat washer. When it got wet, the flat washer no longer provided a good ground. I swapped the washers so the lock could dug into the frame and my problem was solved.
