Gas grill

My Lacrosse 327RES came with a gas grill. This weekend while cleaning up the grill, the knob came off and now will not stay attached. It looks like there may be some sort of metal clip or sleeve missing inside the knob. The only information I found on the grill is:

Model# DDR-BBQ-BLK
Batch 2012-01
BTU Rating 12,000 BTU/hr
Gas type LP

DDR
28255 Charlotte Ave Bldg 1

Elkhart, IN 46517

Unable to find anything using this information on the internet. Any ideas how to locate a replacement control knob? Will a generic gas grill knob work?

Look on the ground where I fell it is a small metal clip.
If you have a good magnet use it to sweep over the area.

A lot of times a company has another one build it's products and just put their name on it.

Does your grill maybe look like a RV500

or an RVQ?

The top one is what PT has been using. Looked at mine but didn't see any retaining clip under the knob. I don't use it. Had my webber modified to run off the quick connect.

wmtire - That looks to be the same grill as mine. Thanks. There must be some sort of insert inside the knob, not shown. The knob just flops around on the valve stem. I will try to locate a knob using the part number from your drawing. Thanks again.

Here is the factory website with the telephone # in the right hand corner. You can call them to see, or I have another site that you can order the knob from for around $5.

Fleming Sales - Grils

I called Fleming Sales and the guy on the phone said that based on the numbers I provided off the sticker it was not his grill and he could not help me. He suggested I call National Sales since they sell a knockoff of his grill, hmmm?

Called National Sales; also no help. I finally found the grill paperwork in the camper and the company is actually DDR, LLC. They are in Elkhart, IN. I called and spoke to a lady, She looked up the part but said they had no pricing in the book. She took my number and said she would speak to the General Manager and get back to me. That was Tuesday. Now Friday and I have heard nothing. I think I am just gonna buy a generic knob and mark it based on the old one. It does not look to be anything special.

Poor customer service and support from all 3 companies contacted.

Tin snips, sheet metal and super glue will fix the old one. Guess how I know?

Old Coot - I see a slot on the bottom of the knob, looks like a strip of metal may go in there which would seem to tighten up the knob. I assume this is what you are referring to?

Yes, that's it. On some it is a bent double pc and on some it's just a curved single pc. I have used the little spring clips that go on the ends of wires to hold something on the wire also.
