Grey Water Tank Vent
On my 2013 Sanibel 3500 I have 3 tanks (Galley grey, black water, and bathroom grey). On the roof, I have 2 vents, which I have determined to be for the galley grey and black water tanks. The bathroom grey has an air admittance valve installed in the cabinet under the sink that will allow air into the tank when draining the sink/shower. How does the air get removed from the tank when filling? Is there another vent located external to the rig (not on the roof)?

I know on my trailer the galley gray and black tank share the same roof vent via a Y connector on the way up.

out the fill hole or overflow run off drain?
air admittance valves let air in for proper drainage but dont let stinky air out into the living area.
are you asking about filling the fresh tank? or draining the grey tanks? Fresh tanks wont have a vent stack I believe they breath through the over flow run off.

My question concerns the grey water tank. When filling, how does the air get displaced? I do not see a vent on that tank. I do have an air admittance valve located under the bathroom sink and know the purpose of that valve.

Where can the Y connector be viewed from? I have removed the removal wall panel in the below storage area and can see the drain piping from the bathroom sink, shower and commode heading down into the tank.

Sharing grey tanks
On a similar topic.
We have a 2016 Crusader 297RSK. We're currently dry camping and filling up the bathroom grey tank.
I've added a gate valve on the end of our drain connection and open both grey valve thinking that water will seek its own level and the bathroom and galley grey tank levels should even out. This does not seem to be happening????
Am I missing something? Do the gray discharge pipes have some type of check valve?
My feeling is I'm missing something simple.
Thanks for the help
Michael

Well I took the wall down again to take another look and saw two vertical pipes toward the back that are the vents for the bathroom grey and blackwater. Took an inspection mirror and saw where they were joined by a Y connection to a single vent. Went on the roof and took the vent cover off. Took a snake and pushed it till it stopped followed by a constant stream of water from a hose. My wife was observing the clear section of drain connected to the outlet and told me that she could see a trickle of water. I ran the snake up and down resulting in a good flow from the tank outlet. Apparently something built a nest down in the pipe that was obstructing air from adequately venting from the tank when the tank was being filled. This clog along with an improperly sealed air admission valve was allowing stink entering the bathroom from the cabinet where the aaa was located when tank was filling. Hopefully, removing the clog along with a good cleaning of the tank, the stink will not return.

Not sure. On my 2013 Sanibel, I have two grey and one black. They do not appear to be mounted on an equal horizontal plane. The galley tank appears to be mounted higher than the bathroom grey. I don't believe there is a check valve installed on the outlet. Vents are 1 1/2" in dia. It would be possible that your two grey tanks are not mounted on the same horizontal plane, which would be the reason why you are experiencing the issue. Not sure how your tanks are configured.
