Sounds more like GCWR (combined truck and load) numbers. 11,300 max tow+5700lb truck would put you at 17k GCWR. Hauling 17k would put you in the 1 ton line-ups.

I put this in the 5.5 bed yesterday....
...just have to put the front wheel in the front corner (don't need a wheel chock that way either) and angle the rear tire to the opposite end of the rear. I did remove the quick detach side cases, and even got the tailgate to close...

OP:
We've towed our TT about 8-9,000 miles so far and are 100% happy with it's power and comfort. We've towed all over the midwest, from MI to FL, and cooler/humid/hot temps. Our TT weighs about 8500lbs loaded down for a week.
Because it is lighter than 3/4 tons, I still had sway with a Reese Dual Cam. I blamed the hitch, replaced with a Hensley and now we are wearing manure eating grins.

I got a Blue Ox SwayPro with the bolts torqued down to about 65lbs and driving with a West Texas crosswind the trailer tracks right behind the truck.

What I'm saying is that you might not get that same result with a lighter truck like the F150.

I pulled the trigger today and a bought a new 2012 Ecoboost 4x4 supercrew longbed with the maxtow package. I swear I looked at every Ford dealer in Texas before I found one 350 miles from my house. Traded in my 08 2500HD 6.0 4x4 crew cab and not really sorry to see it go. Got about 17 MPG with a 15 to 20 mph head wind all the way home. I’m sure it will get better the more it breaks in, I’m guessing it didn’t help I was running 80 mph. The interstates in West Texas are 80. Can’t wait to get the first 1000 miles and hook my 2900BHS. I really want to thank everyone for their opinions and input about the new Ecoboost.

I think you made a great decision. The fuel mileage will improve. My friend has the same truck, and even at 20,000 miles, his fuel economy is still getting better. And he loves the truck!

My cousin tellsv me it's closer to 9k. But still plenty forv him. Another note a 5th wheel will have chug. His TT pulls smoothly with out the chug.

I have a 2010 Flagstaff 30' pulled by 2008. At 65mph it will quickly push together and pull apart in a rythem at the kingpost/truckhitch. Caused by the type of connection a 5th wheeler has. This action causes a 'chug' feeling in the pulling truck. Most of the 'chug' is eliminated simply by slowing down. Or perhaps a better hitch. I believe thier are 2 types of 5th wheel hithces (bar or clamp). The ball pull of a trailer hitch coupled with anti-sway bars do not have the 'chug'. However I believe the 5th wheel tow handles much better and seeings how I'm retired and in no hurry..... we just putt putt down the road at 52mpg. Oh by the way I generally get 10-11mpg at 52 rather than the 6-8 at 65+. Happy trails!!!

There is definitely nothing wrong with taking your time!
The "chugging" you refer to is not so much the fifth wheel hitch, as I have also experienced it (and BAD) with a bumper-hitch trailer. It seems to be more a function of a bad road coupled with a specific TV axle to RV axle spacing, or maybe just the spacing between the camper wheels, as not all configurations seem to experience it.
We have not had it happen with our new fifth, although the old one with the same truck would do it once in a while.
But from my experience, it is mostly the fault of the road. Concrete pavement with bad joints is the most obvious culprit.

Good thing you've chosen a Dodge to tow a heavy trailer. Since they have such a long, outstanding history of mass producing nothing but perfect vehicles, we'll just have to wait and "see where that goes....."

Well mister d, had the infamous "6.0" and had to get rid of it with only 56,000 mls. Had nothing but trouble with it and Ford would not give an extended warranty ,being it was about to run out because of years. Loved the truck but the motor sucked and Ford would not back their product.
Got 107,000 mls with lots of tow mls on the ole Ram with no problems.
I'd say "Goes real good " so far.......

thats kinda like comparing all the new dodges to the 99-02s that had all the injector pump issues (not to mention cracked dashes and the woeful trannys dodge STILL uses) 
i will not argue that the 6.0 and 6.4 fords were quite the black eye for ford....sure there are MANY happy owners out there, but there were a LOT of problems with those motors....
the ecoboost and 6.7 are in NO WAY like any of those previous offerings. ford realized they had a SERIOUS image issue to deal with and took things into their own hands... and while only a couple of years of real world feedback are available, it seems ford has hit a homerun with these new platforms...sure, i have heard of some issues (they are mass produced and mistakes happen...hopefully not to me tho!!)...
in 5 years i may end up eating my words, but its already been 2 yrs and BOTH of these platforms are STILL class leaders. Both dodge and gm make a good product too....so in the end its whatever floats your boat, and can tow it too!!
but well see where "that goes"....
