Help me decide which length unit to get...

I'm trying to decide whether to get a Tracer 2750 or it's smaller brother, the 230.

They are both basically the same except for length.

Would I be able to get the 30ft 2750 into most National Parks?

We want to stay away from flat, pull through campgrounds...

I hadn't thought too much about length when I bought my rig.. just what I thought I would be comfortable in... well, I was actually looking for a 19'r for efficiencies sake, but when I saw my 220 I got starry eyed.

I'm glad I have the size I do though (25'). It's still pretty easy getting into just about anywhere, and I've run across quite a number of places that do have size restrictions... typically 24', but no one has ever balked at my extra 12". Not RV parks and the what not I'm sure, but State and National Parks.

Others experiences may be different, and it may be different in different parts of the country, but the bottom line is probably to ask yourself what size you'll be comfortable in. It's a big investment. You don't want to feel cramped. If you're traveling with 4 or more... you can never have enough space.

That second one (25 ft) is a 230 FBS We have one for a bit over a year now. There are only 2 of us and we consider the perfect "couple trailer". I made a number of modifications to make it perfect. Replaced large O.S. ref with a smaller one to make the kitchen very useful. Took out the furniture in the dining area and replaced with 2 recliners/side tables. Once you replace the shower head, the shower is wonderful. Add a few shelves in the cabinets, etc..... Pulls great and easy to get around. Well made and not a single warranty issue.

Even if you can't stay in a State/National Park, there are usually nice parks nearby. Personally, I would probably choose the larger size trailer over the occasional (if even that much) inconvenience of having to find a different park in whatever area. This is of course, assuming that the tow vehicle is plenty capable of either trailer...upgrading TV's can get VERY spendy real fast.

After looking at the floor plan for both units the 2750 seems to have more open space. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. Sorry but you will need to think how each one would fit your needs.

Towing ANY RV is not a problem as I have a diesel beast...

It's just me and the wife, so we don't want something huge and 30ft is my limit.

Both have outside kitchens that are the same size.

The 2750 has 2 slide-outs and the 230 only has the 1.

And with the 2750, I'm not to excited about the kitchen slide, because it takes away a good size area from the outside patio area...

Klemintine, I might just have to steal that idea from you if I get the 230, because that is the only thing I dislike about it, that dinette.

It's starting to sound like my mind is already made up...

Please explain what you mean by restrictions at National Parks? I'm not aware of this concept. I've never been camping in a National Park but plan to visit Yellowstone next summer. Just bought a new 2307WS which is 32' long. My choice of campsites at National Forest campgrounds up here in northern Wisconsin has been greatly reduced since I went from a 23' to this 32'er due to the increase in length but have managed to get by.

Some private (timeshare) CG's have a minimum length of 26'.
