Hot water heater recovery time

We use the shower like in the army: wet, wash and rince. You can take a shower with only one gallon of water usage this way! Before we bought our first house we were living in a appartment building and the hot water was unlimitted. I am sure that I was using at least 50 gallons per shower if not more.
