Just bought and brought home: 2012 PT Lacrosse 318BHS Touring Ed. with Husky Center Line WDH and Sway control. From the dealer to home through the Blue Ridge mountains with our 2009F150 S-Crew XLT; 5.4L, 3.55LS/6speed, 6.5bed/157"WB. With "pull/haul" and "anti-sway" selected, along with the integrated electronic brake system the 150 pulled like a charm. Left it in "D" and let the 6speed do its magic up and down the hills. Maintained between 2000-2200rpm and 60-65mph going up, except when trapped behind several big rigs. Not relying on the computer generated fuel consumption rate....much too slow to register accurate reading.
With the Lacrosse hitched up the back end dropped 3/4". Of course the trailer was dry, but do not plan on load factor above 500lbs.
Please consider us as First Time campers, although we did have a 20' Taurus back in the 80's when still in the military. So after retirement from flying and with 3 grandsons, Connie and I decided it was time to go camping again.
This forum is a terrific site to get educated on camping. (Lacrosse campers from Virginia)

Good to have you here. Lots of good folks that can help you if you need it. Also lots of good folks needing your help as well.

Prime Time Tracer 230

Hi everyone!

We just completed our second two day trip to Lost Maples State Park in our month old Tracer, after the first one to Tyler State park in mid December. This is our first TT after decades of tent camping and we are loving it. I've lurked here for a while learning all I could about RV's in general and PT in particular after deciding on the Tracer 230 as the best fit for us. I started looking over a year ago at Casitas ( we had a Tacoma PU at the time with a 3500# tow limit) but decided it was too small, especially the shower. We upgraded to a F-150 EcoBoost to handle a larger trailer and found the 230 to have all the features we wanted like a bigger refer and shower, outside kitchen, outside shower with hot water (the second choice TT had an outside wash station but only cold water); but in a package small enough to camp in the Basin at Big Bend. So far it's been perfect. Thanks to everyone here who unknowingly helped in our decision.

Now the tough decision - where to go next?
