I understand the 3.73 is better for towing but how much difference would you thinbk there would be? I purchased a 295RST dry weight is 8800 pounds. They both have 8 foot boxes. (I would have preferred the shorter bed but there were no leftovers in that size.
Thanks for any advice!

Is the XL a gasser? I'm thinking the 3.73 was offered only with the 6.2 Gas engine, but as DW will quickly tell you, I've been wrong before.
The 3.55 is usually matched to the 6.7L Diesel with 6-speed auto. That is the setup we have and we're very pleased with the performance. It towed the 295RST quite easily during our extensive test pull...
You'll be well within GVWR and GAWR specs either way. Good luck with your decision.

We also have a 2012 F250 Lariat with the 6.7 and it pulls our Sandpiper 315re very well. I haven't weighed my setup yet but I am sure it is well within the 16,000 pound towing limit. I do want to find out exactly what my hitch weight is since we did go with optional washer and it is all way forward in nose area. Enjoy your new camper.

With 150s and 250s- you generally are fighting pin weight and staying within GVWR more than anything else. Generally speaking- plan for 20%-25% of king pin weight when calculating if the truck can handle the weight. Couples are at an advantage compared to families (2 bodies vs. 3, 4 or 5) and the stuff they carry.
Just do the numbers, estimate reasonably and you should be set with what you go with!

Finally Here!
We got the call today that our 2013 Lacrosse 327 RES had pulled into the dealership this morning. Headed over to the dealer to sign the paperwork, now just waiting for the slide toppers to arrive so they can put them on and then we'll do our walk around and drive off with it. Our seasonal campground opens in just a couple weeks so it's just in time! Can't wait for our first weekend!

Finally Bringing New Camper Home
Tomorrow morning DW and I pick up our Crusader 260RLD. Dealer has all the bugs fixed and the slide toppers on. State parks open next weekend and it looks like the snow has finally quit for a bit! Anxious to get it in the driveway, sort thru all the camping stuff, whittle it down a bit and be ready to go. Will post a picture when we get a chance!

Here are pictures from picking up the camper at the dealer Saturday and having it parked in the driveway at home. We "moved" into it Saturday and all that is left to do is wait for the weather to break so we can go camping!

So been in my Sanibel 3500 fulltime now for 2 weeks and have had no issues at all. Been parked all this time and living it.

Thanks!!!! We're excited and ready to go. Did the calculations on the GCVW and appear to be ok. Was worried about it after reading all the threads about it on here. Some time would like to get it on a scale to know for sure.

We picked up our Crusader 290RLT TE last month. We are staying in it for a month or so while we work on our house. The weather here in Colorado has been a challenge but so far so good!

Proud new owner of 2013 LaCrosse 318 BHS Touring Edition... sort of. Went to pick it up and do walkthrough yesterday at the dealer and found some issues that need to be addressed first. So we're a little sad, waiting on the call that she's ready to get picked up... again. Side note anyone know which Camco furnace screen fits the 318 BHS?
