Ideas to mount towel racks

The titale says it all. I am looking for ideas to mount some towel racks in the bathroom of my 318BHS. Just got back from our maiden voyage and want to start the customization to make it functional for us. What is the wall stud situation, wood, aluminum, spacing? Thanks for the feedback.

I put mine on the door too. I didn't want someone tugging on a wet heavy towel unless the bar was well secured.

Did you use anchors or anything in the door?

I used the over the door type as I was not wanted to put holes in anything.

X2 on the over the door towel hanger. I also mounted a towel holder near the sink using the 3M double sided tape. Works well for us.

We use the over the door hooks on the bathroom door as well as the single over the door ones over the sides of the shower. Work great.

i use an over the door rack for towels also. on my 5th wheel, i use the door to the washer and dryer.
grhodes50's use of the 3m tapes gives me an idea of using them to keep the over the door rack from moving around while traveling.
i just started using the 3m tapes (those that are designed to support hangers) inside the pantry to hang splatter screens and various thin kitchen gadgets. will find out if they will take the heat from when the trailer is not in use over the next few months.

we used spme of those no mar removalable hooks on the wall in the bathroom... just above the toilet, as long as you get the large ones , make sure the towel is hooked on well and the toilet lid is closed no problems

These will hold anything to the wall. I've even mounted cabinets to my trailer wall with these. Solid as can be. A towel holder would be no problem. I've mounted several towel holders to the wall with these.

Cobra Anchors 016S Walldrillers Wall Driller #6 Nylon + Screw at HardwareAndTools.com

I got mine at Lowe's but I'd bet they're available at many hardward outlets.

We did the over-the-door thing also. Since the bathroom door is near the kitchen, I also have an over-the-door rack facing that way.

I tried to use two of those to mount a surge tank to an exterior wall. One went in fine, but the other one must have hit something and tore out the thin Luan before I knew it. If you use these be very careful about obstructions in the Styrofoam filled walls.

Oh and once in, they are there for eternity. They do NOT come out again.

We have the 320 Crusader and we also used an over the door hanger. We didn't have to screw in anything. It works really well. We purchased it at Walmart.

We also use the over the door hooks. I think I purchased them at the Dollar Tree for well $1.00.

We have a triple over-the-door rack from Wally World. We glued the pieces together (three bamboo rungs), and used the included screws to attach it to the door. Didn't want it sliding around while we were moving.

We mounted a tension bar/rod in the shower to hold/dry towels when shower not in use. Just put them on the sink when taking shower and they are handy for you when you come out of shower.

i mounted an adjustable shower curtain rod (it expands by unscrewing and has got rubber ends so no holes required) about 6 inches down from the ceiling above the shower to hold those wet towels and facecloths, kids wet bathing suits etc. it works just lovely! no drips on the floor.

The middle of the door is hollow but the top and sides are solid. The bar should be wide enough to catch the sides but if you mount it too low you are likely to smack your head on it. Mounting it high enough to avoid that should get you into the solid part on the top.

short shower curtain rod

I put a short shower curtain rod over the top of the shower. The upper lip of the shower keeps the rod from falling down and the slight tension keeps it from rolling around. Nice for jackets, rain gear etc.

The hollow bathroom door came with a towel bar which is already loose. I need something else that is lower so the children can reach it because of course they'd hang up their towels!
