Is it OK to have the slides out partially for a day or two?

I am in the process of purchasing a Tracer 3150 and I am looking for the total width of the trailer with the slides out. I am curious if I can open the slides in my parking spot at home. It's pretty tight but I think I might be able to if I park it perfectly. Anyone want to measure theirs for me? There are no dealerships with one around here.

I just checked our slide comes out 32.75". It's not exactly the same as yours but it's a starting point.

So that makes it 10'9" total width for the trailer. That is almost exactly what I have for width in the parking area. So on to the next question. Is it OK to only partially open the slides for a day or two in preparation/while loading?

I wouldn't because all the weight will be on the slide out bars/mech. The weight is transfered to the trl frame/structure once the slide is all the way out and tight to the side of the camper.

Two additional concerns - the seals are designed to work most efficiently in the all the way IN or all the way OUT positions. Plus, your S/O floor is not 100% supported when it's partially OUT - you could damage it by stepping on it.

Definitely don't base your purchase on this. Our Lacrosse only fits in the driveway if I back it perfectly. Often I'm off a bit and so I just partially open the slide.

RVGuy is spot on with the two points he mentioned. Just keep it out when loading and unloading and pull it in when done. Worst case scenario is you load/unload in the street or something.

Hoping I can get it in there just perfect and get them open. Parking on the street is inconvenient as I have to park the wrong way so the slides open into the yard instead of the street, then the entrance doors are on the street etc. our driveway is an option but it's going to be tight lengthwise there. Thanks for all the info.

When we took delivery of our Tracer, the Service Tech that gave us our walk through, made a point to tell us the slide must be all the way out, or all the way in...never part way. He also said that we could damage the slide.
