Smile I've Got My Fingers Crossed!

Temps being forecasted for next weekend are in the mid 90's! Believe it or not, that's 10 to 15 cooler than it's been in about a month! I might have to get out my jeans and a light jacket!

So if the forecast holds up, we'll be camping at the local SP next weekend. We'll take the boat out and finally get some use out of it. We've only had it out 3 or 4 times this year.

How many of you have either canceled or delayed camping trips because of the heat?

I have been reading about all of the hot weather your state has been having this summer. Not so where I live. July was really cool with a lot of rain. Our warmest day so far was Thursday when the temp hit about a blistering 82 degrees (27.6 degrees celsius) Hopefully we will get a few more days of sunshine.
It must be difficult to stay comfortable in the type of weather you are experiencing.

Like anything else, you learn to deal with it. At least Im not having to mow the lawn!

So far the worse effect its had on us, three of my pine trees have died. The bad part is they are three of the four that my grand daughters and I planted together about 3 years ago. Oh well, well just plant some more this fall or next spring. I need to get one planted for for our newest family member anyway, Lil Dude.
How would like to camp next to this crew?

We can have some rainy periods in the spring and fall, so I can understand your situation. Not too much fun to camp then either. However, I do love to camp in the kind of temps your having.

Good luck and happy camping.

We didn't cancel any of our trips, because we don't get very many opportunities. However, it has been miserable even at night. We are actually going out next week and the high's are supposed to be under 90 degrees! Indianapolis has had 20 straight days of 90 plus temperatures. A new record!

We haven't camped at all since June. It has been so hot in South Texas this year we decided to hold off on camping for awhile.

My buddy escaped to Colorado with his rig a month ago and we have decided to join him with our Tracer in tow around the first week of September. He says it is getting down in the 50's and sometimes 40's after dark around Gunnison... man I can't wait for that!

They've already started backing off on that forecast.
As of tonight it's W-95, Thur-98, F-101, Sat-102 & Sun-95. Overall that's not nearly as hot as it has been, but I'm sure we'll postpone that camping trip. If only it would top off in the mid 90's, then we would camp.

The last 5 days Tulsa has set 3 record highs and tied 1.

HondoPatrick, sure wish I could hitch up and head to Colorado right now.

The trailer has been stored since June but it's coming out tomorrow to get ready to go! Three more days of this heat and off to the mountains. I grew up in eastern Oklahoma but lived in Colorado for a number of years while active duty. I can tolerate the cold much better than 100+ heat. I hate just listening to the A/C work. I think next year I'll spend both July and August at higher elevation.

If you're from Oklahoma or Texas, Colorado is looking real good right now!
Love it up there, but can't go myself right now because of work and my wife refuses to go!
We've been twice and my wife had problems with the altitude both times and says that if I go again, she'll be here when I get back!

About another month and the weather here should be good for camping. I'll be sure to get plenty of trips in this fall to make up for missing the ones we cancelled because of this heat.

You guys have fun in Colorado and enjoy the cooler temps. Post some pics when you can.
