Jensen Radio Issue

Experiencing a problem with my outside radio turning on by itself hours after being shutdown. The radio is a Jensen JCD2010 Mobile CD Player/Receiver. It came on again last night around 2 am. I tried to reset the unit by depressing the reset button, but that did not eliminate the problem. I never heard of this occurring on a radio and was wondering if anyone else experience this.

There is an alarm on the radio. Yours is set and you need to turn the alarm off. I had the same problem.

I did check the manual, but did not notice anything concerning a setting that would cause the unit to is turned off. Would you please give me some specifics as to what you did to stop the unit from turing on by itself.

You're right. I just re-read the manual and don't see anything about an alarm or "auto on/off" setting. I don't even think it has remote control capabilities (at least I didn't get one) so, now you got me stumped too!!!

Not a weather alert. It turned on to the same rock station I previously was listening to before I turned it off. Nothing like having your outside radio blasting away rock at 2 something in the morning.

Put it on AUX for now in case it should turn itself on again until you figure it out.

Not relevant to this thread, but how about blasting "The Little Mermaid" to the entire campground at 7 am before you realize the reason your kids who woke you up cranked it up to hear it is because only the outside speakers were on.

That aside, there's a separate thread running where somebody somebody asked a similar question:

http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...a-20424-3.html

Might be worthwhile to cross reference notes, even if it's different brands.

My old wildcat did that. Granddaughter had punched some buttons. Seems I remember the remedy being hold down the bass boost button until the screen option opened with an "alarm off" option.
In the meantime, make sure all volumes are turned down.

This worked on my old one but can't remember if it was Jensen, concertone or Genesis. Try this....
to turn the alarm on or off, with the radio off, hit the x-bass button, on screen will read beep on and beep off, there is your alarm toggle.*

Sounds like it's time to call Jensen tech support!
