Filled them with white silicone caulking - not very pretty, but cost effective. I'd asked them to use a white rubber "closed" grommet so I could easily reach the security screw if I need to again but it didn't happen.
I'll try and find time to add this to both sides as I wouldn't like it to happen again in the middle of an extended trip.
I'll also persue it with PT as it seems to be essential to be able to manually operate slides in the event of trouble.

I took a couple when I dropped it off in storage and one when the Service Tech popped the top off my old motor and showed me a broken piece inside and said he thought that was the cause of the failure.

Holes drilled, and caulked, to get access the motor security screw.

The Service Tech says the broken graphite(?) ring is the problem

I noticed the black marks on the teeth and wondered if it indicated binding. The other tracks has a few marks but less than this one.

Good question, I forgot to ask

As soon as I get time, I'll take off the external sealing strip on both sides and get a better look at this security screw. Then I'll make a proper access cover, like PT should have done, in case this happens again during a long trip.

I'll take pics and document the process.

Bob,have enjoyed your musings thus far. I would also like an update as our 2011 320 has the bedroom slide with the Scwhinnteck thingamabob. Although if I understand correctly we would not need the optional Rhino to open or close it if the same issue arises?

I was so glad to get my trailer back from the dealer, that I took it straight to a campground in my favourite motorcycling area (Bancroft, Ontario) and planned to work on it there. Each time I visit for a few days I just ride, relax, and enjoy the great weather. I haven't even thought about the slideout issues yet, but I absolutely must as I'm not confident it won't happen again.

I will document my findings.

Thanks.

Bob

A small rhino would be OK to CLOSE it (as you can access the security screws when it's open), but even a huge rhino won't do it if it's closed
