lacrosse 318 table update......for those who care

so i did the pedestal leg mod to my trailer a while back.......but always in the back of my mind wondered how i was gonna use it as a bed....

well i had got the 15 inch legs from CW to attempt to use in the down position but never really tried them.....well....they work great......pop the long ones out put tthe short ones in , and there ya go.....a bed platform.....now only my 24lb daughter has slept on it but so far looking good....LOL...

and sooooo nice not having a wobbly , bent, bang your knees on table in there.......sooo much more functional....

if you do a seach on here i think several of us had a pretty in depth convo about the original table configuration.....it was in concept a great idea.....but in real world application none of us liked it......it would not stay level with the slide out, was super heavy and had to be lowered to travel.....and even then it banged everywhere......mine bent the first time i used it as a bed too.......the post legs have solved EVERY one of those issues.....of course its not mobile now, but lets be honest....it was like 50 lbs and we never moved it anyway.....it was a pain to lower raise for my wife by herself as well....

none the less it works perfect for us now.....matter of fact im sitting here typing this from it now after having dinner and watching florida win big.....LOL......seriously its a great trailer...we have about 4000 miles now on ours in 2 years and have had only very minor issues.........every where we go we get at least 2-3 people comment on how the like out set up/tow rig.....i ONLY wish i had a much bigger bedroom......but we are gonna purchase a 43 foot toy hauler for next year so that problem will be a non issue..........in all fairness tho, we will be keeping the 318 as our smaller warrior trailer we like it soo much and i have done so much to it.........the TH will carry my bikes or rhino when need be.....but its a HUGE trailer to use for quick weekends shorter trips......

good luck.....this forum is a great resource if you have further questions...

Jeremy

What a great idea. I was sitting on the table while in the bed position and thought it could use some more support. Your seats must be taller than mine though because I measure 14" from the table bottom to the floor. No big deal, just have to cut an inch off.

I can't remember the exact height of the seat bottom. ... seems to me it may have been a tad under 15".... nonetheLess when in the bed position it is not noticeable because of cushions. .. worked out great. .. just use a coarse thread screw no longer than 1" and it will work great. !.. and I used the small ones from the original table to mount the cones on the bottom of table. .

Sorry for the confusion, I should have mentioned that mine came with the pedestal legs. The table top sits on a wood strip perimeter while in the bed position but the perimeter strips don't seem that strong and I don't want to warp the table top. I thought these short legs would add some support to the setup.
