Lacrosse 329BHT rear platform

I'm looking at the 329BHT or Tracer 3200BHT, and was wondering how strong the frame/rear bumper is on these (my current rockwood hybrid is super thin metal). I would like to mount one of those platforms on the back to store items while towing. I have seen a couple of Surveyor's and it seems some come from the factory already installed.

I have seen many bad stories of bike racks coming off, the frame the Lacrosse seem pretty "beefy". Anyone here have experience with this?

thanks
Marc

My Lacrosse frame and bumper seems beefy... With all the post about frames and bumpers coming off I passed on the bike rack.

Thanks- Next time I see one of those trailer from the factory (ie Surveyor/Grey Wolf) with the rear platform, I'll look at it closer to see how they reinforce it- unless of course, they are rated for 6lbs total.....
