Our flat-screen stays in the RV - it's been bathed in near -40C temps on many occasions. But that's an excellent point re the cars and trucks. The multi purpose displays in recent generation vehicles employ the same technology as our TVs. And many of these displays are frequently being powered up in near arctic or (if you're in Alaska or the Yukon) arctic conditions. I dare say these LCD displays work better than many of the vehicles do in these conditions.
